Guitar hero controller compatibility.

I have a question if anyone has tried this out....

Does the controller for GH(any) for PS2 just run through a USB port?

And, if so, can that same controller hookup through USB to a Wii/Xbox/PS3?

Edit: In addition, does the rockband guitar pick teams or is it interchangable between systems.

GH controllers are all system specific. The PS2 versions might be compatible with the PC through a USB adapter, but you're not going to swap them across consoles.

The Rock Band guitars are Corporation aligned. The XBOX360 versions are XBOX360 specific (though end in a USB plug, so they might be PC compatible). The PS2 and PS3 versions are the same, and can be swapped back and forth. Rock Band doesn't exist on the Wii, so there is no compatibility there, as far as I know.

Anyone else know any better?

the guitar hero 2 and 3 controllers and the rock band controllers for the 360 ALL work on guitar hero 2, 3 and Rockband for the 360. They should also work on PC, since they're USB and windows has drivers for 360 controllers.

The 360 controllers do NOT work on the PS3

The PS2 guitar hero guitar can work on the PS3 if you have an adapter. It's flaky as all hell though.

The PS3 rockband and guitar hero controllers seem to not work on each other's games. This makes people angry, mostly because the rockband controller breaks if you look at it wrong.
