This applies only to the guitar controllers, not the drums or microphones. I'm not saying that Guitar Hero is better than Rock Band or vice-versa. I've always liked the Guitar Hero controller better, i just feel it is more responsive than the RB controller. There are many solos on RB that i mess up on, that i wouldnt mess up on if i had the GH controller (i play on expert btw). I'm wondering which controller everyone prefers.

EDIT: Crap, i forgot to add a poll, and now it wont let me add one.

The mods dislike vs threads, just for the record.
Anyway, which model are we talking about?
The first Rock Band controller, I disliked.
The second, I liked better than every other GH one.

I started playing RB with my brother well over a year ago. He had a GH guitar, and I had the RB one. Since then, he's gone through 3 guitars while mine is still going strong. And I find the RB one feels better in my hands than the GH on, though that might be because I have long fingers.

Guitar Hero controller all the way. I know I'd earn scorn from many for choosing them but the Rock Band guitar controllers are so god damn awkward.

I like RB's high frets, but I also love the clicking noise GH controllers make. I love having an auditive and tactile feedback to my strums.

I personally like the guitar hero 2 due to it being light, reliable and the neck is thin and I dispise the world tour guitar, I prefer the guitar hero drums because they are more realistic. Mic isn't enough difference to compare
But to activate star power on rock band kicks guitar hero drums balls

The guitar hero controller is better, it clicks, but it at least responds every time.

I'm a Rock Band controller lover. I like that the fret buttons are all flushed to make it easier to slide your finger across if you need to and they seem to be lighter. I find the GH ones a bit too heavy. And the smoothness of the strum bar as it doesn't have any clicks is much easier for really fast strumming.

I enjoy using the Rockband 2 bass the most, and it's more fun to take wild epic solos on. As far as actually trying to beat songs, I find the Guitar Hero controllers easier to use and more responsive. I believe Count Fenring agrees with me. Although I do like the slider on the GH:WT stringed instrument simulation hardware.

The RB strum bar was fucking useless. Loving the new GHWT guitars though. Has a nice weight and once you get used to the sliding frets it's pretty sweet. It even feels better than my Metallica guitar. I assume they are both the same so it's a bit odd.

I'll admit that my experience is limited, so I really shouldn't be saying anything. That said, with the one GH and the one RB guitars I've used, I liked the Guitar Hero one better. Perhaps it's because it was the one I was used to, but it felt like the timing was far more forgiving on it. Though I am willing to admit that the RB guitar I used seemed partly broken (for some reason, it read more reliably strumming upward).

Exactly, the timing is perfect, whereas with RB I feel like I have to hit the note a little bit early for it to register.
