Does this tick anyone else off? They're just making us pay for the tracks again!

If they give the option of drums/vocals it's like upgrading it but still... Activision what have we done as gamers?

Oh god. Activision and EA are trading places. EA gave me some hope that it would change when Mirror's Edge was released, and all the Guitar Hero milking is making me lose hope in Activision, and they are taking Blizzard down with them! Activision, fix youself up before I have to change sides and cry.

omg this is scary because i was thinking there was gunna be like a review or something
i found raining blood the best and it gets me charged up lol
i havent played world tour yet but ive heard that there is only bout 2 good songs......
GH3 is probsly the best GH out atm cause it has songs that every1 knows about
plus i think it would be funny if u could get like Master Chief or Arbiter or Flood-Infected-Human as a character lol and just have their weapons as guitars!!! :) that would be the day :) but i dont think its gunna happen :(

Just being a killjoy here and pointing out that you won't be paying for them again If you don't actually purchase the game.

This suits me fine because I only purchased GH:WT and they've fixed/modernized the old tracks which are also now all master tracks. So hooray for me and boohoo for you I guess.

I'm actually very excited for this. Complainers need to realize that many Guitar Hero fans did NOT get to experience Guitar Hero 1 or even 2, and a GREAT number didn't bother with the Rocks the 80's pack, which had a good tracklist but excessive price. In addition, many current players don't have the ability to play these older versions. Let's not forget that PS3 owners only have GH3 and WT available, and of course the PS2 releases don't work.

Yes, the tracklist is going to make or break this release, but think of how many good former tracks could work well with the GH:WT formula. Also, these will all be Master tracks, which is a good change as well. In GH2, I really like "Mother" from Danzig, but the vocal person they used was HORRIBLE and quickly took me out of the immersion of being a rock star. Hopefully they'll be smart and pick mainly from the GH1 and Rocks the 80's tracklist. Here's a few I'd like:
Heat of the Moment
I Ran
Holy Diver
Ain't Nothin but a good time
Godzilla
Iron Man(!)
Institutionalized
Mother
Surrender

If you still have all these games and songs available, then save your money and rock out to them, without drums and vocals and online play and with the Harmonix band performing them. If you're like me and don't have the games and also are willing to wait until the game is discounted (like GH: Aerosmith was about 2 months after release) then this is a very welcome addition. Besides, to see my Chinese wife trying to sing TTFTF is worth the price of admission for me.

I only entered into the guitar hero world at world tour (held off on buying every game prior) so it might have something to offer me. though I loved having Tool songs on the last installment.

I think its cool. Considering that no one actually has to buy it, I'd argue that Guitar Hero is one franchise that could benefit from a plethora of titles.
And who hasnt said, "I wish I could play "X" song on GHWT!", or something along those lines.

I don't mind this, as long as it's actually the greatest hits instead of "all the 80s songs that weren't exciting on guitar in the first place".

Also I would love to see Frankenstein from GH1 on there - hey, there's precedent for instrumental tracks!

This is a really good idea- I only ever played GH3 and now I have WT, would like to play some of the good songs for 1 and 2, and if the Greatest Hits are released for several consoles I'll be able to play GH on all my different ones =)

It is a pretty good idea, especially for people who haven't played the first 3 GH games. I just wish they included songs from Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in the game. It'd be fun screaming "DREAM ON! DREAM ON! DREAM ON! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" for points.

http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/959/959159p1.html

This article has more information, including the first eight songs announced. For those who don't wanna click the link, they are:

Them Bones
Killer Queen
Nothin' but a Good Time
Killing in the Name
I Wanna Rock
I love Rock N Roll
Barracuda
Through the Fire and Flames

The last one bolded for "Holy crap!" emphasis.
