here here. GH: WoR was close, but no cigar (don't try and woo me with Slayer and Children of Bodom you bastards!)

plus, GH got no songs. You can't import anything and the DLC is 99% crap. at least rock band releases a metric shit-ton of songs to make up for all the other crap they release (seriously, seriously. LOOK. AT. THIS. LIST!)

what's even funnier is going on the GH forums and seeing them live in denial. thinking their game is superior to Rock Band in every way and that nothing is better than their game. seriously. its REALLY sad (and hilarious)

Activision buy the rights to this game, make it better, make it a sequel to GH 3 and your agent is back for revenge.
Get the people who made typying of the dead to help

for music put Annihilator, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Mercyful Fate, Iron Maiden, Flotsam and Jetsam, Overkill and... ehm "Walks over to CD collection". Death, Accept, King Diamond, Misfits, Metal Church, Running Wild, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Wolf, Thin Lizzy, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult, Savatage, BLACK SABBATH, Dio, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Queensryche, guns and roses, Michael Jackson's Thriller, foo fighters, tedious D, Rush, and anamanaguchi.

there, best music game ever.
i'd buy the shit out of that. you have good taste, dear sir.
crap I just relised I forgot to put lynyrd skynyrd and Metalica.

But... but... You make-a no sense!
I think i can elaborate around that.

Activision mistook declining sales for declining intrest because they made that blatant error of flooding the market with some 5 Guitar Hero games a year (on average) scince 2005.

As good as im told the series is, nobody in thier right mind is going to buy 5 games that are basically the same every year.

Anyway, Activision really are scrounging for games. I'm starting to think they've realised that they've been digging their own grave for a while.
I wouldnt count on it. Activision has buried enough of its titles through shitty sequels and No One Has A Memory Over Two Years Old [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Nohamotyo] doesnt apply to the gamers market.

Don't get my hopes up with True Crime.

HUUUUUUUUUGE fan of New York on the PS2. And that game was looking wonderful, especially with the addition of parkour in a open-world sandbox crime game.

Good. I like Guitar Hero. Although if it was up to me they'd only make band-centric games, but I suppose they're not as likely to sell well.

So more than a year between releases counts as a hiatus now?

This is why I respect Valve and Blizzard, or any developer who releases a game "when it's done". They don't think they have to rush everything out the door on a specific date.

I'm perfectly fine with the hiatus being permanent. Didn't like Guitar Hero after the 3rd game. Played Rockband and it was sooo much better.

"Just to clarify, we're just putting Guitar Hero on hiatus, we're not ending it. We're releasing products out of the vault - we'll continue to sustain the channel, the brand won't go away," Winters said in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz [http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2011-04-11-activision-guitar-hero-not-necessarily-dead]. "We're just not making a new one for next year, that's all."
Okay, really? So you have to restrain yourselves from shitting out yet another Guitar Hero game for one whole year?

Thanks to the goddamn bozos at Activision, the music genre has been over saturated and has pretty much nearly been destroyed thanks to them. They didn't keep up with the times by supporting their games via DLC and new song/album releases for the game. Instead, they shat out a new Guitar Hero every year, sometimes multiple times in a year, with brand new plastic dildos peripherals that they expected everyone to rush out and buy.

Because of this, the music genre is in a decline, and it's a damn shame. I don't know if the whole music genre was a "fad" or not (and I really don't see why it would be), but if it was, Activision most certainly helped its demise.

They better put out a damn good Guitar Hero game with some actual thinking behind it next time. Seriously, I remember when they were promoting "Warriors of Rock" they were all like "Dude, it's totally going back to the roots of rock, guitars, solos, and the soul of Guitar Hero!" and then they put Bohemian Rhapsody [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKR7Z1JugNA] in the song list. (Fuck, I love Queen!)

Wat.
