Guitar Hero, Losing its popularity?

Only the numbers will show whether the steam of the genre is running out. I have a feeling it is, but I've been saying the same thing about sports games since 96, and we all know how that turned out.

I'm going to be honest and say that I have no experience whatsoever playing either of them, nor do I want to play either. From the outside looking in though, Rock Band appears to be the better game, pretty obviously actually. There's a new DLC out for Rock Band about every week it seems.
