Bassist here to crash the party.

I play on a 2008 Fender Am. Std. jazz and a 1985 MIJ P bass Lyte. I mostly play jazz and free-form/improv. Remember kids, bass is easy to play but hard to play well ;)

I play on an ESP EV-2, Emppu Vuorinen of Nightwish's signature model. Supposedly, only ten have been made. Of course, I didn't buy it for that. As soon as I picked it up, I knew that guitar was the right one for me. Haven't even thought about regretting my choice. It's fantastic.

I play mostly metal, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani songs.

Have been known to compose some stuff myself.

I have:
- American Fender strat
- Gibson LP classic, goldtop...early 90's reissue of the '65 model.
- Epiphone LP custom, Gibson burstbucker pro's installed...actually going to sell the thing.
- Danelectro DC59. This thing is about as basic as it comes, the bridge saddles are made of wood...yeh. But it sounds incredible for solos. With a little effects pedal manipulation(thinking light overdrive for my "clean" tone, and another pedal for gain boost. I play in a duo so using such a low output guitar might be pushing it a little. I just love this thing so much) this may well become my main guitar.
- Tanglewood, no idea what the model is...just a cheap and chearful acoustic guitar I bought because I liked the sound...ruins your fingers though.
- Vintage acoustic baritone. People are always impressed by how smoothly it plays.

I adore the blues. But alot of the time that isn't how I play. I can play the blues, it's just so sacred to me that I don't feel like I do it justice...so I dirty up the signal and rock out.

I own an Ibanez SA36FM and I play shred, just because so many pieces are made of win.
Oh and classical music is always fun :)
Yeah I could be considered an elitist prick.

Glad to see i'm not the only one that calls my guitar 'she'.

I've got an Ibanez SZ 320, which is pretty much perfect. I love her.

I've got an obscene amount of guitars, but I only really use the tobacco sunburst Epiphone 335 and the white Yamaha Pacifica with a big Ghostbusters sticker on it.

As for genre, I'm a ska boy. S'all about the upstrokes babeh...

a teal Firebird V it's from 1999 I think.
(Gibson)

edit: Now with pictures!

My bass is a Thunderbird Pro (also Gibson).

Apparently I really like that shape of guitar :p

BTW They are slightly cheaper to purchase in the USA than in england/australia as they are manufactured here. But not much cheaper. I play mostly old School Punk or Ska. IE The Casualties or Operation Ivy
Though I did play Bass in a groove metal band. (See: Pantera wannabes)

What do you think of the 'ol Thunderbird?

I had one a few years ago and I hated it. The shape of it is horrible! Because it is so top heavy there was the weight of the neck and headstock on my left hand which slowed me down, the strap kept popping off because of the neck dive and I couldn't get past the 15th fret without clawing my hand over like you would on an upright. Also, cheap pickups and cheaper wiring made it sound like crap.

I ended up trading it in for my Fender, best idea ever!

I have a cheap Fender that I got for about $90 a little over seven years ago.

I play metal when I can, but I hardly have the time to pick it up anymore.

My favourite guitars are my Ibanez GIO GRG07 LTD-2 with White/Blood splatter paint job. It has a nice sound and I love it to bits. My second guitar is a classic that I used when I was six and still use, it is an Admira Infante.

The music that I like playing is mainly blues. To me blues is the best. However I also love playing Green Day my favourite being Basket Case.

I have a Gibson copy, and a Jackson Warrior. Both ok to play. I vary between metal/metalcore etc and progressive rock, with a little bit of acoustic thrown in there for good measure.

The shape compliments a person of my size. I'm 6'6" and very stocky. I'm also left handed so I don't mind the extra heft. I have really nice straps made of worked leather. I also

The 'Pro' is kind of the low end of the series I think. I used to have an Ibenez (this bad boy specifically http://www.ibanez.com/BassGuitars/model-SR605 ) but found myself playing it less and less and then finally I sold it. Then years later I got the itch to bass again and bought the thunderbird (it was a steal at $239) as I liked my 'firebird' shape so much.

The V does have a slight twang to it but it's made me play more bluesy.

Maybe now I would like to post the baby I am playing the most; That I got from my Grandfather when he passed away.

My Grandfather left me this in his will it's about as nice as you can make for one of these. He always called her "Old Girl" so that's what I call her too.
