I am getting a new guitar of my choice in 2-3 weeks.

I currently own a fender starcaster, pretty decent condition and a really good amp.

What should I get?

I think you need to get the polar opposite of a strat, ie a hollowbody with humbuckers. Depending on how much you have to spend, I recommend either the BC Rich Dagger, The Gibson ES 335 or the Epiphone Dot, which is essentially a cheaper (but by no means inferior) ES 335

Gibson Les Paul. Just because it's my favorite guitar ever. This one [http://www.guitarcenter.com/Gibson-Les-Paul-Vintage-Mahogany-Electric-Guitar-102771409-i1169816.gc] isn't too expensive.

Do you want to stick with a Fender? If so, try to find a Toranado. They're discontinued, I believe, but it's the most well-built, solid Fender I've played, dual humbuckers, great feel. Find one and see if it works for you maybe. Depends what kind of music you play too.
