In my final year, the school actually had a fire (the weeek before I and my fellow 6th formers went on A2 studyleave).
The electronics in the boiler room caught fire and 'asploded. On the (then) hottest day of the year.
Last 2nd to last period, I had double free so was in art. Heard the alarm - during my 7 years there, we'd had so many drills (and accidental alarms - tennis racket hit alarm, minor explosions in chemistry, for a month the alarm went off every day because of a fault - Fire Brigade still had to come out, the day an inspector thought the fire alarm was the door-lock release...) - that everyone pretty much thought "oh goody, another drill"
Decided to leave my gear in art. Low and behold, it was a real fire.
Spent the rest of the afternoon in the yard waiting for the firefighters to put out the fire. To add a bit more excitement, our DofE instructor kept his highly explosive gas cannisters in the boiler room... For the rest of the week the building stank of burnt electronics and had no electricity.

The other thing...
The Royal Navy landed a Lynx helicopter in our yard/playground.
We knew that a former student was a high-ranker in the Royal Navy. We knew he was coming in to give us a careers talk on the Navy. We weren't told that he was a helicopter pilot, nor were we told that he would be landing his helicopter in the school grounds...

Someone brought a grenade into my school once. Luckily, it was homemade and he was an idiot, so nothing catastrophic actually happened.

Other than that, the most exciting thing that would ever happen (with alarming regularity) was a random dog getting loose in the corridors.

Wow, compared to you guys, I had a boring High-school.

We just had to evacuate once because there was smoke in the school. Apparently, an experiment went bad in one of the classes, but in the end, there was only damage to the lab equipment.

about the most interesting thing to attack out school was a Kangaroo with a broken leg. Funnily enough that was taken more seriously then the half dozen deadly snakes that inhabited the grounds every summer. But i guessed no one expects Australia to make sense.

I remember a fire drill once in my old school where the teachers got actual smoke machines to make the drill more "realistic". This was never done again, seeing as the next week a microwave in the cafeteria actually caught fire and everyone ignored it.

My gods, what hellish places did you guys attend? All that ever happened on my schools was usually inflicted by either me or one of my friends.
Blowing in the basement, setting of fire alarms? Check.
Turning the water off? Check.
Short-circuiting the computer lab? Us again. Multiple times untill our paperclip-on-electrical cord and the wall with the outlet were completeley scorched... our luck did not need pushing.

Also we once stole most of the rubbish bins from the classrooms and hid them in the basement.
The basement was awesome.

stupid religious bullshit
Maybe they were trying to limit his punishment? Like pleading insanity :p

OT: Uh, my college is full of hard-drug users. In my primary school, a helicopter landed in the field for some reason.

Not a lot went on at my school. The only interesting thing that I can remember is when I spent a science lesson watching the progress of a burning car that had been abandoned on the school field. It exploded nicely, but that meant we weren't allowed on that side of the field until they'd cleared it up.

When I was in elementary school, some guys called in a bomb threat on our school so they could go rob a Walmart. My elementary school was in the ghetto. We had to sit outside on a hill for 5 hours while the police went through the school. On a side note, what kind of asshole calls in a bomb threat on an elementary school so he can rob a goddamn Walmart? I mean, seriously, what the fuck?

Also when I was in middle school, some kid pulled the fire alarm to see if it worked. It did. He got suspended.

I have equal amounts respect, hatred and fear for that kid.

Nothing ever happened at my old school I believe. A few dumpsters fires perhaps.

We had bomb threats all the time one year in highschool, it was always around mid terms or finales.

In grade school we had a Meth blow up across the street. There was also a man who was arrested for coming into the school and throwing holy water on all the class doors.
Seems your "bomb threats" are our "fire alarms" during test heavy periods, they go of all the time and you have to freeze in the snow awhile.

Yeah the funny part is that everyone knew who did it but they could never get enough evidence to press charges

My train hit some guy last night (11pm) on the way home. He survived, we got 3 hour delay, it didnt make the news and we dont know if he tried to kill himself.

It meant I ended up spending 23 hours awake, and had been working as a sword-fighting extra on Game of Thrones since 5am, so really could have done without the hassle!! I also live in Northern Ireland, so twice we had bomb scares at our school. Never real bombs, just terrorist threats I guess. Hope you guys are feeling ok, remember its your school, the nut-job has nothing left to work with. You guys can post stuff!!!!!
