All right, I'm sick of all the depressing threads that I'm seeing, so how about we do a better one?

The thread title says it all. Treat the game you love like it's the second coming of Jesus in video game form!

I'll begin:

Half-Life! The first one on PC is one of the best first person shooters ever made! It was this troper's first FPS, and at 5 years old, no less! It had some of the best levels, best enemies(Stupid headcrabs...), enviroments, music, sound effects (Yes. Those brilliant beeps when you scroll over those brilliant shades of orange are awesome as well.), and then we get somebody like GORDON FREEMAN! One of the most famous Heroic Mimes ever! Oh yeah, he's also a PHYSICIST. And the second game......this Escapee found a PS2 port of Half Life 1 and bought it and played it, and it is STILL one of the best first person shooters ever made IMHO!

I'm still confused as to why people value this as a good thing. Or just annoyed that no one loves physicists that much in real life.

OT: Fable TLC is amazing! It has the coolest characters ever, Scythe and Jack are just so amazing it makes me happy just thinking about them. Jack was such a great baddie I wasn't sure if I wanted to defeat him or just sit and gawp. And it looked so amazing! All colourful and pretty and happy, it was so funny to have that along with the wierd sense of humour that made it so funny! And you can commit acts of domestic abuse! It's like putting a giant middle finger up to the PC brigade and saying "Fuck it, we'll do what we want!" Oh Peter I love you so much, take me away to Albion and make me your civil partner!

I said that he's a physicist because of all people to stop interdimensional abominations, it wasn't some stereotypical badass like Duke Nukem, it was just an everyday physicist who basically HAD to take a level in badass.

I think I started getting annoyed at this around the time people started being genuinely shocked that I don't, nor do I know any other physicists that do, own a crowbar.

For that matter I only know one whose response to interdimensional abominations would be anything more than dive under the desk and call the nearest stereotypical badass. But then he isn't a theoretical physicist, which that Breen fellow seemed to think was a particularly important feature.

The Baldur's Gate series as a whole remains one of the greatest experiences in an RPG I have ever had. There were enough companions and party sizes were large enough that you could always find your favourites, the main story and side-quests are all compelling, and the characters are some of the most memorable I have ever encountered.

The graphics are timeless, and to this day I still find them aesthetically beautiful and charming. And whilst you can frown on the character customisation not letting you ajust the size of your pecs, well, it won't hurt to use your imagination, will it?
