I prefer that 2D type of hack and slash, so bear with me.

Castle Crashers!!! Its about 1200 Microsoft Points and its like Golden Axe mixed with Gauntlet Legends. Remember Golden Axe + Gauntlet Legends = Pure Awesome and it is multiplied by how many of your friends are in the room playing with you. That or Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, but that one is rather difficult on its normal setting, still fun though, I've played the hell out of the demo. I believe it's 800 microsoft points but don't hold me to it.

Infinite Undiscovery.
Pretty sure that's a RPG.
I wouldn't recommend it if I hadn't played it...(its a very good game)

*video snipped*
Well that seemed pretty pointless, are you encouraged to do that in the game?
I was interested in it until I saw that video.
I embedded that video because it showed off the hack and slash nature of the combat - the game itself is very story and character driven (it was created by tri-Ace and pucblished by Square - Enix). The person in the video is not very good at the combat, but hey, the video was recorded when that person first got the game.

NOT under $30, but I was going to recommend it anyway. It's a damn good game, and I doubt you will feel cheated for paying full price.

Sacred 2 already came out (unless you meant the UK version). I have to agree with you and retract my suggestion. Sacred 2 simply looks amazing and well-worth the new game price. I think I might get it myself soon.
Plus it has multi-player online and couch co-op as well.
Sacred 2 got some pretty low scores, but still looks like a decent game. The $60.00 is the only turn off.
It is good. At least IMO. I have about 10 hours invested and it is a huge solid hack n slash game. In 10 hours I have managed to map out under 5% of the map.

There is a few flaws though. The camera angle is bad. I just haven't been able to find that sweet spot. The graphics aren't that great (which is sacrificed for the sheer size of the game). The random phrases your character says (well the High Elf anyways) is poorly acted and silly. The worst though is the friendly AI. You will get some escort missions and they are not well done at all. I was escorting one and 4 skeletons just spawned out of nowhere and killed them causing me to lose the mission. The escorts run away normally which is even worse since they usually run into more monsters and aggro them leaving you to try and clean up the mess. Even worse is thier hp is a bar on their heads so when (not if when) they run out of your sight you have no idea what is going on. That could have and should have been implemented alot better.
