Many of you are already familar with this genre of games, if your not familiar with it then I will explain, you are a super powerd ass-kicker even though your by yourself, you have to fight 100s of baddies all of them against you, the good news is that you can defeat them all and look good doing it. Now I really liked GOW and the sequels I thought they had lots of variety and intresting enimes, I thpught it was the perfect hack and slash, but my question is this. What is your favorite Hack and slash?

Does MadWorld count? If it does, I'll pick it.

The only other ones I've really played are the God of War games, and Van Helsing the video game.

The Kingdom Under Fire games. More specifically The Crusaders.

Both are fun, but Crusaders had an instant action mode, which is awesome.

The games combines hack and slash with RTS elements, and its great fun. Pretty corny, but really, really fun.

Hmm.

I haven't played very many but.

Spectrobes:Origins is a Pet Battle JRPG where the combat of the main character is basically tactical hack n slash.
(if that makes any sense)

I have played GoW and i liked it a lot.

I really want to try Devil May Cry.

Ninja freakin Gaiden (especially 2). It's the fastest one (I think) and it's very fluid no matter what you're doing. I just think they could have added puzzles besides collecting items and kill things. It also has a very large variety of weapons that you can change on the fly. Also it feels good when you can fight 2 gigantic volcano armadillos, at the same time, that explode like nukes when they die and blocking the blast with you sword.

Kingdom Hearts kinda has that, especially in the second game where you have to fight off one thousand enemies at once.

Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands seems to have that hack and slash feel to it as well.

Kingdom hearts is an excellent hack and slash with a stat system (I particularly lick the ability selection), and chain of memories merges trading card games with the typical formula.

HOWEVER.

hack and slashers aren't typically that good story wise, but heres a quick rundown:

- the "message" is pathetic: THEIR IS DARKNESS IN EVERYTHING!! IM A FUCKING LAME CHARACTER! SORA IS A GODDAMN TWAT! FRIENDSHIP IS GOOD! WE ARE DUMB AND THINK OVERCOMPLEXITY = GOOD PLOT!

- they did a fucking worthless job of merging the characters from disney with their own characters. One: they stick out like a sore thumb. some small apearance modification would have fixed that real quick, but NOOOOOOOOOOO.

- voice acting! holy shit... just give me the text bubble...

dont get me wrong, KH is an AMAZING game in that it is both japanese, not made by capcom, and *gasp* FUN!

just... KILL THE WRITERS
