.hack//SIGN and possibilities

Lately I've been watching a rather excellent anime called .hack//SIGN. The show takes place in an MMORPG called "The World", which by all standards is a very excellent game.

Anyone here seen the show, and think it could work as a real game, possibly with virtual reality elements?

and .hack//G.U. Vol 1, Rebirth, Vol 2, Reminisce, and vol3, Redemption =3

lots of dungeon crawling aspects and what not.

On topic, i would love to see a real version of "The World"

Damn, I haven't played any of those.

Is it even possible to make a game as awesome as The World real?
