Hacking in CoD 4 and WaW

After spending several months off Xbox live for my exams, I returned to see WaW ruined by stupid kids using these "infections" that take up half your screen. CoD 4 isn't as bad but it's still happening there.

So my question is:
When did this start?
Why are these people such douches?
Where are the devs in all this?

In Febuary I think, when IW announced Mw3....

"Why are these people douches?"

They feel that Cod 4 wasn't good enough so they google mods online for 5 minutes.

"Where are all the devs in this"

I'm pretty sure the devs have moved on from their older games and are hard at work in trying to support MW2 and Black Ops, they are the bigger games after all.

Probably a long time ago, but only the modders will be left

Dunno, it's what they get their enjoyment out of I suppose

In all likelihood, supporting Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2, since they are the two developers main games at the moment.
