(Naturally) black short hair combed up with gel on the front. Nice and simple. When I comb more hair up I look very terrible and its even worse with long hair..

My hair is just straight, it grows straight down. Dark brown colour, almost black. Pretty much average length now, not too long, not too short, although that's because I refuse to spend money on haircuts at university. My mom's a qualified hairdresser, although she did the course then never bothered to actually do a career in hairdressing (she's an accounts clerk now), so she does it for free during holidays. As it happens there's a barbers at the student union, but why should I pay for something I can get for free every two-three months, especially when my hair doesn't grow very quickly anyway...
I used to have long curly hair that went down to the middle of my chest, but now, I have thick curly hair that just touches my collar. Here's a better image, people say I look like Link from Legend of Zelda (hence my avatar). I don't think so but other people do.
My hair is black and VERY thick. As a result, growing it long is suicidal, especially during summer. The catch is I love having long hair. The result is I only grow it in the back. For a while it resembled a mullet a bit too much, however it's grown almost all the way down my back by now and looks pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I usually tie it long tail when going out. The hair on the front of my head is cut short and simple.
I have kind of brownish gold hair that I keep relatively short, but you can't tell, because its always up in a ponytail. Basically I have the standard side bangs thing going on, but my hair is so durn curly I have to straighten them out every morning before beating this massive fur monster on my head back into pigtails or whatever I feel like. Seriously, its so thick you coudl make a colony of fur people in there!
Just a random opinion, I kind of hate hairdressers. They never cut my hair the way I want it no matter how damn specific I get, and they alwaystry to fling in personal preference: "Oh it would look so great if we added layers, or left it longer over here..." I DONT WANNA LAYERS. WANT HAIR CUT. WAAAAAHHHH!!!

I used to be firmly in the long hair camp, but recently I had it cut, and now it is pseudo long, and it has never looked better.
I've only cut my hair once in my life and that was about 2 or 3 years ago... so my hair is long, (naturally)straight and Dark brown, it used to be Mahogany almost red when I was younger though... oh and I took a picture of my haircut it's right over their *points at avatar*
