Half Life 3 at E3? Hopefully!

With Portal 2 down, I finally decided to go back and finally beat Half-Life 2 Episode 2. After beating that, I can't help but wonder when Episode 3 is coming out. I had a discussion with a couple friends about this and we came to the conclusion that since 4 years is an exceptional amount of time between expansions that Half Life 3 is going to be the next game and E3 2011 would be the place to announce it. Of course, this is just speculation among friends and nothing more.

I was just wondering if anyone had the same feeling or wanted to tell me how my friends and I were wrong.

It makes no logical sense to release (or announce) HL2E3 after HL3 has been released (or announced) unless HL2E3 is HL3 in which case it doesn't matter then.

I really, really hope Valve has been making HL3 the greatest game ever completely under the radar. Like, new engine and everything, and at E3 they'll reveal it all and blow everyone's mind.

This is what I'm implying. I should have made that more clear. I think HL-3 is HL-2:E3.

Ever since Duke Nukem Forever got a release date Valve decided to make Half Life 2 Episode 3 the game that will never come out.

Or at least that's the rumor I'm starting right now. I sure hope it's wrong.
