Yeah that about sums it up. Twice now (more if you include L4D) Valve has lifted the bar for FPS games, there is no reason to believe this will be any different.Rutskarn said:Unintentional? Perhaps. Conclusive? Hardly.
Welcome? Extremely.
As am I. And, I agree. His work is grossly under-appreciated.deathbydeath said:I'm particularly glad Kelly Bailey's name was on the list. His work on Half Life 2 & Co. is perpetually under-praised.Rutskarn said:Welcome? Extremely.
Perhaps. There's a good chance that could be the case. In fact, part of me is convinced this is the case. Especially when one considers how fast the hype train is running for them at the moment.Adam Jensen said:Unintentional my ass. I bet Valve did this on purpose.
Considering a vast majority of the key voice actors are actively working on many of the other games Valve's made or is making, I don't think they'd have much trouble. In fact, it'd basically be a case of someone stepping into the recording booth where, say, Ellen Mclain is recording voiceovers for Dota 2 and saying, "Hey Ellen. When you're done mind reading over these lines for a few characters in Half-Life 3?"Omega500 said:Could it be worth chasing the down the voice actors from HL2 and see what they are upto?
Gabe Newell and several others have said, several times, that there will be no Episode 3. They dropped the episodic release model as far back as 2010 and have since moved to a 'games as a service' model. The next entry in the series is just going to be titled Half-Life 3.Unless HL3 is a new game and not HL2ep3.
