Realistic, but then again, anyone can get a copy of 3DS Max and learn it to a good extent for free, if they know what they are doing.
Being what seems to be the unofficial 3D computer graphics expert of this site, I have to say that very well could be as you say it is.
Also, a game that gorgeous to be rendered real-time would need a inhumanly powerful computer.
But
Valve has never stated that they would make a Half-Life 3. They said they would split a third into three episodes and then kill the franchise.
Also, the crowbar disproportionately covers the screen, obscuring where a target would be, and it's unlike Valve to make weapons impractical.
