...what the hell is happening to that Bulbasaur man?
Erm.. I was a bit stubbon with the Half-life games to start and refused to play them because they looked too nerdy. Teleporters and Science..yada yada
..but as my gaming tastes matured I decided to give it a try and loved everyting about it.

I played the first HL as a kid and i wasnt so keen on it. The headcrabs kept fuckign me up. I was expecting a balls deep in adrenaline rushing shoot em ups.
Then i played HL:E2 on xbox and truly appricated the beauty of it..
remnds me i need to get my Orange Box back off my sister. I lend something to her for a week and i don tsee it for months..

Well, I played Half-Life 2 first, because I purchased the Orange Box. I beat it, and fucking loved it. Then I beat Ep1, Ep2, Portal and decided to purchase that GldSrc pack on Steam and beat HL1.
Half-Life is definitely the best video game series ever made.

I played Half-Life 2 Episode 1 a couple of years ago and thought it was ok. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad.
Some good mods include Synergy, which allows you to play up to 10 player Co-Op over the internet, Research & Development which is a very clever puzzle mod. Dear Esther is also an interesting mod, but its a lot more for its subtextual commentary on level design more than action or discovery.
A very good webcomic was made a long time ago which is now Legendary among Garry's Mod webcomics, which is Christopher C. Livingston's Concerned [http://www.hlcomic.com] which is a very funny demonstration of the whole Half Life 2 game.
