What is it with all of the weird stuff that happens to you in that game. Like the G-man just appearing and telling you that you have work to do. Or when Eli was telling you that there were secrets that he needed to tell you. Am I the only one who is not getting these, or are these just there to keep you guessing? If anyone has an explanation then PM me or spoiler box it so you don't ruin it for everyone. Thanks for your help.

They are little plot hooks to keep you playing, personally I don't believe Valve had a big plot in mind, they probably just made it up as they were going. And I doubt they will ever explain anything about the G-Man.

G-Man is Gabe Newell. That's why you have to do whatever he says and he knows everything.

It is supposed to be weird, and the fact that much of the overarching story is left to the player to piece together makes the game much more interesting.

Play the first one.
I first one was weird as hell lol, it's even worst than the 2nd.
Then play the last one..... I have a time machine, why don't you?
Because I have a time warp machine. :p It's like a time machine but I can also slow down and speed up time or mix time fragments around. It's wayyy better.

The G-Man is your agent and he sells your services to random people. However the magical Vortigaunts steal you away from him.

He wasn't happy about that.

But you still haven't played Half Life 3: episode 4 have you? HA! Your machine is useless.
I would time warp it to this time but I think the Half-Life fanboys need to suffer for another 666 years before it comes out.

The G-man is Gordon's twin brother Geoff Freeman (NB. this is not John Freeman [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHxyZaZlaOs], Gordon's other brother). He's the evil twin.

My theory on the G-man is thus:

G-man is actually short for "The G Man". A nickname given to an extra dimensional coke dealer. He's called the G Man because he also is a loan shark. Now, Gordon had to borrow some money from the G Man back in the day, however he never payed off the "G" man. So now, the G "man" has to "use" Gordon "Freeman" to get an equal amount of work done to work off his debt. Dr. Breen and the aliens are just rival drug dealers. There are no "mysterious benefactors", no, "secret deals", no, "Hazmat" suit. Just Gordon and his coke addiction.
It all makes sense now! That's why the game's so weird! It's all just Gordon's coke-addled delusions!

I'm pretty sure Gabe is the Boomer in L4D.
