This I hope is in the correct forum for this which is essentialy a film review.
It is intended not to be a harsh critique rather more of a defense.
The first thing you will notice about this film is that it is missing a rather essential ingredient of the rest of the series. Mr Myers is obviously on a Caribbean murder spree on a winter break as the villanous turn falls to men in rather natty black business suits. This of course on paper sounds pretty dreadful, oooh were being attacked by chartered accountants...
But these accountants can crush a mans skull with there bare hands and dont need a poxy knife! Nor are they such a bunch of pansies that they have to hide there faces as they slaughter there way through the unfortunate people privy to the films major conspiracy.
The film itself has the same look as the other Halloween films well the first two at least, it has a sense of menace which drips from every pore in permiates through every frame. There is something clearly wrong throughout, with hints from scene to scene as to the films climatic end. John Carpenters score amplifys the feeling of unrest superbly
The acting is superb far above what you would regard in such genre sequels, I would place Dan O'Herlihy with the alumni of horror actors like Angus scrimm and Jeffery Combs, his villan may chew the scenery at several points but he can get away with it as the film has almost reached it's climax.
I will not be talking of the plot as I dont want to give the game away, despite it having been out over twenty years I know many people havent watched it due to the rather frankly eliteist view of horror sequels.
And finally An apology if you dont sing the Silver Shamrock theme hourly for the next fortnight after watching you may already have fallen pray to one of the accountants of death.
I urge you to watch this masterpiece
