Halloween Costume help

I have never really dressed up for halloween before, well i did when i was young but most years i just put on a mask. Anyways this is my first halloween at college and i feel like actually putting effort into a costume. I was thinking Mario, since that wouldn't be hard and who doesnt love mario, plus i kinda have a similar body to mario. Any ideas?

I'm wanting to do the same thing this year. I think I'm going to be doing Ryu from Street Fighter. Mario would be a pretty simple one to do and very recognizable

ive never been the one for scary costumes, i usually go for funny or nerdy, but i want people to get it without having to explain, as you said Mario is very recognizable.
