Halloween Costume Rush: 2011

[Atmos Duality]

Well, it's my favorite time of the year: Autumn (or close enough, for us Northern Hemisphere folks)
Harvest goodies, Apple cider/pie/donuts/fritters (yes, I love ALL of those), corn mazes (would that be Maize-Mazes to my UK friends across the pond?), cool-mild weather, no wasps and of course: COSTUMES.

Apart from the existing topic discussing women's costumes. (EDIT: Which was in full-swing when I posted this)
Don't get me wrong, it's a valid subject, but I aint exactly in the Rocky Horror Picture Show here.

So, this year, I'm considering masquerading as a vampire hunter (Belmont-style; whip and everything) given a massive lack of originality and even less skill in making costumes.

So what will my fellow Escapists be going as this year?
If you have some costume know-how, have any tips? Suggestions? PLEASE SHARE.
Some of us suck at making costumes.

What I really wanted to do after my guy and I were invited to a Halloween party, was to dress up as Catherine with a huge bloodied kitchen knife and have him dress up as Vincent, horns and all. It would have been adorable... But then the party turned into a masquerade.. Boo.

I'm in Australia so we don't do Halloween here. But I did on a whim buy a $600 Batman suit, which I'm waiting to arrive. It was kind of an impulse buy which I'm not sure if I regret yet.

My friend is going as a male Panty so he talked me into this one.

Edit: ask me anything. I LOVE costumes and have designed a few things in the past. Plushes, shirts, coats, swords.

I'm going to try and make a steampunk inventor costume. I have my beard grown out real thick and bushy, which I will pare down into mutton chops soon before Halloween. I also have a toy rifle and revolver which I'm going to spray-paint a coppery-brassy color of some kind and bling out with bits of metal and stuff. Then I'm going to throw together some kind of gentlemanly victorian outfit, probly with a bow tie. Oh yes, and I have goggles, of course.

I was originally going to be going as Shepard from Mass Effect with some homemade N7 armor out of EVA foam. Unfortunately, I got busy and I didn't finish it and I have to work on Halloween anyway, so I am going as nothing.

If I have enough time and money I'd like to go as the Vault Boy from Fallout. Shouldn't be that difficult to make either. A couple of my friends are both going as Agent 47, although I'm yet to know if they are going full on, being bald and bar-code or just the suit and red tie job. Last year I was Mario and a friend was Luigi, at the school, we were recognised easily and, unlike the guy who went as Master Chief, didn't get hit or anything for it either.

Anyway, back on-topic; ideally I'd be Slender Man. But I'm only 6'2 and far too fat. TF2 Pyro would be cool but bloody hot in that gasmask.

Lol, I'm just going as a zombie... I've been working on my Liquid-Latex Skills and I can make myself quite terrifying...

...I plan on starting the day complaining about a bite I got earlier in the week and then as the day progresses I'll get "sicker" and "sicker" until last period people will find me "dead" at my seat...

And then I "reanimate" and eat everybody!!!
