Alright, I've noticed a lot of "What are you going as for halloween?" threads recently, and seeing as how people might have some trouble designing a costume and finding appropriate pieces for said costumes, I've decided to set up this thread in response: Should you have any difficulty/confusion with your halloween project, just post your situation here and the rest of us will offer ideas and possible solutions to help you. Likewise, it would be appreciated if you would help out the rest of us who might have some difficulties of our own.

So again, just post a costume-project related question and we'll answer to the best of our abilities.

As Dante from Devil May Cry, should I choose to walk around with Rebellion, or Nevan? (Rebellion is a giant sword and Nevan is a lightning shooting guitar.)

What brand/color of red should I dye my hair for my Rick Astley costume? Also, any idea on where I can buy a beige trenchcoat?

Same, but like this one:

I'd much rather model a Halloween costume after this doctor:

Now that's just pure class right there.

Places like Berlin Coat Factory? Brown trenches shouldn't be too difficult to find in any place that is kind of specialized in coats.

Nevan would look rather epic, especially when wielding it to something as simple as a party. Also, some blue glow-sticks and a guitar should do the job. Maybe.

Perhaps use something of a copper-esque color for the dye, and for a trench-coat,not only look in online catalogs, also try stores like Marshall's, which tend to contain lesser used brands. They might carry some appropriate trench-coats. I also managed to find an ideal blue suit for anyone interested as going as the BLU spy.

See? It ties together so well.

--------------

I'll be using my costume from last year, no doubt, since I'm lazy. Also, my costume from last year was totally groovy pants (albeit less cool this year, now that the movie has already come out.)

That's the Burlington Coat Factory, and that would be a good choice if you want to find a coat like that. Also, if you want good socks, I know of a decent sock factory in Indiana.

Jesus, everyone and their grandma is going as a TF2 spy.

I plan to go as Dr. Steinman but I have no idea where to get a labcoat or those shiny mirror things (I sound like a tard I know) doctors wear on their heads. Where could I get medical stuff like this? Also dying the coat red will be a *****.

I don't dress up for halloween, just sit at home eating junk food and watching tv.

When I did dress up for halloween I would usually prefer my reaper mask and some kinda robe, quick and easy.

But as long as were asking for halloween help, how do I make it scary again?Halloween has lost the fright, filled with smiling pumpkins and cartoonish ghosts.I miss being surrounded by terror,or at least the occasional shiver down the old spine, but Oh no,It might frighten the toddlers and babies dressed as various fruits!what has a guy gotta do to make halloween frightening like it used to be?!

Nevan. Rebellion would be more recognizable, but for costume-y goodness you have to go with the guitar

as for my costume i have a black longcoat, a black airsoft mask, and a hard-hitting M4 airsoft rifle.

My costume will be "that asshole shooting the kids from the shaded area"

Would it be distasteful if I dressed up as Kurt Cobain and walked around with a cheap toy shotgun with some colorful buttons glued to it, and carried a game case that said "Guitar Hero: Nirvana"?
OT: Anyone have an idea where I could buy a suit, tie, and balaclava like the Spy's from TF2?
Requires some tweaking, but here is a good cheap one. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&navTitle=Street%20Bike%20Accessories&webCatId=28&webTypeId=159&prodFamilyId=7391&stockId=65107

My father has a two hole balaclava from when he was in the special forces so I'm going as the spy like everyone else (luckily no-one I know in my school even plays TF2)

I've been trying to slap together an Alex Mercer outfit, and while i've got the Jacket, I've yet to find a white hooded t-shirt. Any hints?
