Hopefully not, they're good enough as they are thanks.
At most, a re-release on current-gen (like they did with God of War) might be good but thats about it.

I don't really care about the series, but my friends had fun.

It's a bit too soon though, a lot of people will have played the origonals and may not bother spending monies to do the same.

I'd like a remake. I really enjoyed the first Halo and wouldn't mind playing a nice HD remake.

Besides, it would be more material for Roosterteeth to work with. More Red vs. Blue is always good in my eyes.

I would love to see a Halo: CE remake, but I want Bungies approval sticker. Seriously, they made this cash cow and it was good because 'they' made it. I felt the same way about Halo Wars until I actually played it, so until Bungie gives their nod then you ain't getting my hard earned dollars.

This is pretty old news, but whatever.

I'd be interested in a CE remake, but terribly disinterested in a remake of Halo 2. I had very little fun with the second game, and I consider the weakest title of the Halo (core) series. That being CE,2,3, and Reach.

As for your thinly-veiled pop at Microsoft 'milking' the Halo games: it would be nice if Microsoft, and other publishers, put more stock in original titles, but none of them do. To single out Microsoft for something that the entire industry is guilty of is to show how blinkered you are. Hell, by the same standards, Valve has milked every last drop out of the Half-Life cashcow. So far, we've got Half-Life, Half-Life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue Shift, Half-Life: Decay, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2, and an upcoming (at some point) Half-Life: Episode 3, as well as Portal and Portal 2, which are part of the game universe. Makes Halo seem almost restrained by comparison...
I know the entire industry is guilty for doing it, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, But Halo is the one I am most familiar with.

Unsurprised. Thats how I feel about it.

They do this while they could be making the Timesplitters games backwards compatible.
Microsoft doesn't own Timesplitters, last I checked that was EA.
They don't own the vast majority of games that are already backwards compatible, so... yeah.

Not surprised and actually looking forward to a Halo CE with Reach level graphics. Sure everyone is going to moan about how it came out ten years ago and doesn't need a remake but when you think of how far graphics have advanced in that amount of time and how beautiful the levels in CE were when it was released you can't help but get a little excited imagining the levels and characters with current level graphics.

In my opinion Halo 2 graphics haven't aged to badly but I would gladly shell out cash for one on par with Reach...
...
crap, I'm the target audience aren't I?

all I gotta say is that there better no changes (other than graphics) and that halo 2 includes it's map packs and that they are both sold together (I don't care if they are separate discs just not sold individually) but seeing as how this is Micro$oft we're talking about only one of the three things may happen 2 if lucky
but it would be nice to play halo 2 online I missed out on that seeing as how I never had money to afford live and I want to play CE online

It'd be cool to see all the tech in Reach semi-integrated into the start of the game. There are few things that need to be explained, i.e. where all the armor abilities went.

And new graphics is always a nice wish.

Oh I see. I thought you were suggesting a God of war/Sly Cooper style HD collection of the 3 timesplitters games.
*HD collection of the 3 Timesplitters games*

And now I have an erection.

I'd only remake Halo CE, cause that was the last good halo.

And thats after another ten years, when the generation of people that first played it were actually old.
This.

I thought Halo 1 was actually a really good game at the time I played it.

Every other Halo since then however has either just been mediocre or so so. The fact that the Halo community has grown into something horrifying doesn't really help.
This quoting this.

OT- I would buy Halo CE it all they did was up the graphics and add online multiplayer. If they changed it at all, like trying to add all the shit from the other games, they will loose the sale.

I am pumped for this, maybe we can get Halo 2 the way it was supposed to be. Not the pile of "meh" that we got back in 04.

As far as I can see, the OP is saying that because if these rumors are true, these will just be remakes, not sequels, and will be full priced games. With Valve, all of the episodes and DLC added more to the story, and didn't just remake the original. Not to mention the Blue Shift and Opposing Force weren't $60. And they were made by Gearbox. So thats seems like an unfair comparison.

A Halo 1 remake rumor has been circling since Halo 3 got launched. Its probably not true or if it is, its definitely not gonna be made by Bungie.
