Halo 3 ending...

Right I have completed Halo 3 on all difficulty settings and the ending stayed teh same. However may stupid game is saying i haven't actually completed it on Legendary... :S. My friend came round my house a while back and told me about this ending on the game i have not seen. So tell is there an ending where Master Cheif survives??
The only ending I have seen is when Cheif and Cortana get in the ship, then blast away. Then the Elite guy comes down to Earth in one half of the ship, blah, blah, blah, blah... So is my friend correct?

Wait, isn't that for all difficulties? I don't recall completeing mine on legendary but i clearly remember the cutscene.

I'm almost sure i got that one on Normal the first time i played through it.

Sorry my bad, on Legendary it shows the part of the ship Master Chief is in drifting towards a planet. The ending is on all difficulties.

To me, it sounds like you weren't patient enough to wait through the credits... You can either play through it again and just wait through the end credits, or you can watch the ending on youtube. Just search for it and you'll find it, I'm pretty sure there's some high quality vids of it.

Oh right, na, i haven't seen that one. I have only started to play Legendary now, becasue my 360 was dead for a good 4 months I'd say. The ending sounds intresting, hopefully it will be worth it.

This is absolutely correct. Anyone who goes around promulgating that Chief is dead at the end of the game ought to be shot. Not only are they spoiling, but they're spoiling WRONG.

Yeah that's what my friend was telling me, and yeah it's definitely a cliff hanger. There will be another Halo no dalt about it.
