About 9 million copies according to what I can find. Halo 2 had ~9 million and Halo 1 ~5 million as well.Cajt said:Good for Halo, but how many copies of Halo 3 have they sold?
When you account for more than half of your team's kills on a 5v5 Deathmatch, you know something's wrong. The main reason I don't play Halo avidly any more is for the simple fact that I cannot seem to get a competent team, and my mates aren't in the same skill bracket as me, so we can't play ranked together.
That's not what I meant. I don't think everyone of those users will go buy ODST soon after launch. I know it's the same mp. I was musing on how well ODST will sell.Joshimodo said:ODST's versus multiplayer is Halo 3.CountFenring said:But how many of them will move to ODST instead of keep playing Halo?

Ten million users to go!Dioxide20 said:One of the few games that has come close to the amount of users that WOW has, and thats quite a compliment, for a FPS!
I was dissatisfied with Halo 3, which is a slight improvement over my feelings with Halo 2. I'm going to buy ODST and like it. Hell, somebody's gotta give Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk and Jayne Cobb... er... Adam Baldwin a paycheck.YOUshookme67 said:Halo 3 is dead on the inside. I don't think ODST is going to cure Halo of it's ailments either.
The ever-infamous Internet Dickwad Theory applies here. Trust me, no matter what online multiplayer game you have, you will see that happening. It's happened to me across the board: playing Halo, playing TF2 on the PC, playing COD4/COD:WAW on the PS3...Earthbound said:About a month ago, I played two games of Halo 3. That's the answer! This is why Halo must continue to exist and why more Halo games must be made. It's so obvious! You, good sir, are brilliant.saintchristopher said:i do have to thank Halo 3, for its tireless efforts that every day keep one million douchebags off the streets.
Agreed, that tends to be what I do, although it can be fun when you have a group of friends to stay out of party chat. You'll either meet a good bunch of people to chat to, or you can lay in to the arseholes as a group.Machines Are Us said:The best idea is to just not chat through the headset, if you play alone then don't bother with the headset, if you play with friends change the settings to friends-only voice chat.
This applies all across Xbox Live, Gears of War is just as bad, and from what I have heard, so is COD4's.

I know, I read that after I had posted.
Major Nelson will probably make ODST and Halo 3 be in the same slot, as ODST is still technically considered an expansion, and therefore the same game.CountFenring said:That's not what I meant. I agree. The game as a whole isn't a bad thing. It's just a few people with IQ's lower than their shoe size that make people think "OMG, Halo 3 isn't worth my time", which makes me sad. I've played games with my friends who aren't moronic drop-kicks, and it was fun!Earthbound said:Too many people play Halo for it to ever die. In all respect, it's not a bad game. It has fun multiplayer and a whole host of game types. Unfortunately, most players just stick with deathmatch and do questionable things with the corpses of players that they recently killed. The community, now I'm talking about everyone as a whole, is just terrible.
