It's pretty fun, lots of variety in maps and weapons. One of the main advantages is the huge audience, insuring that you'll always have a match.
All the weapons and maps are the same to me.

The huge audience? They're all little kids who convinced their mom to buy it for them.

I easily got twice the kills as anyone I played with.
Based on this post I have to conclude you've played a total of one game, with people who were little kids, on a map that only had one vehicle type, and you used the default weapon the whole game.
But since you're trashing Halo I have to assume that you're speaking with even less experience than that, like most people who trash Halo (ie: none). Unless you'd care to post your gamertag so we can see your awesome stats via the helpful resource offered by Bungie.net's service records.

If you want to dislike Halo that's your prerogative, but boasting about your domination and using that as your reason is going to need some proof if you intend to have your comments taken seriously.
Your turn.
The standard tactic here is to tell me you don't have anything to prove, maybe flame me a little bit. I won't mind.

I have to say, the epic-ness of griffball is insanely fun to play....its a shame that you can't play it more often.

Fine then, I also seem to get double the kills of anyone I play with in any of the matches I play, except on a rare occurence when I'm playing, say, CTF, and Go for the OBJECTIVE.

1. No it does not. You can take more bullets than a battle tank.
I don't understand this argument - the amount of damage you can take is irrelevant as it's the same for all players. It could be one hit point or a million, you still need to be the better player to consistently gain the advantage.

Ooh, double kills. I am impressed. Seen many of these?

Or these?

I personally believe Halo's multiplier is great and can be regarded as a video game sport as far as I'm concern.

I love how it's the perfect example of "minutes to learn, but years to master." I dunno, I can't exactly convey how I think of Halo. It's just there's Halo, Team Fortress 2, and then there's everything else. It's unique and its very own style.

I mean your quite literally "players," none of that perks or class stuff that separate people. Everyone has no advantage over anyone one else and the only thing that will carry you to victory is you skill.

Sure it's not THAT fun all the time, buts it's enjoyable and no game makes victory sweeter.

Oh, and I am also a firm believer that Halo requires more skill to play than say Cod. To be really good anyway. I've played halo3, Cod4, and Team fortress2. I regard myself as pretty good at all of them, probably better at Cod actually. I mean I don't think I'm a Halo fanboy, I just can appreciate what it is.

Also, campaign does suck, AI is pitiful and I hate how weak you are compared to the legions you have to kill. I liked the one in Halo 2 though.

If YOU don't like Halo 3, then don't play it, go play your Call of Dukie or Counter Strike. But don't post something that bashes a game that you don't enjoy because there's millions of players that do. I love Halo 3 multiplayer because you can use different play styles and still play great. Most other games you have to be stealthy (boring for online honestly...) or have to travel in packs. Halo 3 you can go solo or go with the team. Oh and at least you last longer than 2 secs in a firefight, it's boring and irritating when you die instantly then have to wait to respawn. If you want a more realistic game, then join the army.

Oh yea, each weapon has a different purpose than just trying to get head shots which is alot more fun.

Halo3 is the best multiplayer shooter I've played in terms of allowing people with different playing styles to fight on fairly equal terms. You can charge about the place in vehicles if you want, but you can also take on a vehicle on while on foot (provided you use your brain and get the right bits and bobs), team tactics are rewarded, but its also possible to go it alone and still come out on top thanks to the recharging shield. The weapons have some nice variation, and its a game where being able to pull a quick headshot while on the move is still the king (most of the time). I can see how you might have been unimpressed though-there are times when it feels like its pleasing noone by trying to please everyone.
Theres also the performance side- you compare Halo3 with, say Gears of War2, Bungie have gone to loads more effort (or have been hugely more succesful) than Epic in making sure you don't have to wait an age for a game, and that there's half a chance of a lag free experience that plays through to the end (host migration seems to be a rarity in gaming unfortunatly)
Sometimes Halo can annoy though - One thing I'm sick of is squeaky voiced American sprogs with a vocabulary of half a dozen or so swear words bouncing round like demented kangaroos firing rockets at people feet and tossing grenades indiscriminatly.

1. Takes skill to play
Sorry, but no. I have always been a good Halo player and I have never thought skill played much part. *Run forward shooting, throw grenades, melee when in range and then hide to recharge shield, rinse and repeat.* is what it boils down to.

2. Extremely well balanced weapons
Balanced? Yes, although some are rather pointless. The Spiker and Brutes Spike Grenade come to mind, seeing as the Spiker is just a slightly slower Uzi with a little more power and the spike grenade is a sticky grenade that looks differently.

3. Vehicles
No argument there, I liked the Halo vehicles and their controls, a part from the Brute chopper which again, I feel is pointless.

4. Varied, diverse, and well designed maps
Hmmmm, there are some yes, but they left out the best ones from Halo 1+2.

5. Matchmaking system is great
Yes, it's the best I have found.

6. Amazingly deep combat
See point 1.

7. Equipments
I personally felt they ruined the way it played.

8. Forge
More games need something like this.

9. Theater
Indeed.

10. Armors heavily affect your play style.
They didn't when I played, I am assuming theirs been a patch since then.

I also find the campaign in Halo 3 to be excellent and above average.... oh shit!

Hell no. Halo 1 had a good campaign, Halo 2 and 3's was for the most part awful as far as I am concerned.

So you're saying Call of Duty 4 takes skill to play and the scarab battles in Halo 3 weren't epic?

Wait, wait! From all the Halo haters in this shitty forum. You're the one who disagrees with me? Thats surprising.

It's possible to criticize something (Whether it's a game, book, movie etc...) without hating it.

It also seems like you're just trolling.

I've been playing Halo multiplayer since numero uno and really, they're just plain simple FUN end of story. I have played a wide verity of muliplayer games but there are only a select few that truly shine and that I keep coming back to no matter what. Halo 3 is up there are one of my top multiplayer games because it's a lot of fun and works so well. I am still waiting for them to bring H3 to the freaking PC as long as they don't pull another retarded halo 2 vista on us. Everything in Halo 3's multiplayer just fits together well and it's well balanced despite what some may say. I never feel underpowered with whatever weapon I have, and the combat is fun. There is a reason why Halo is one of the most popular multiplayer games, because it works well and it's FUN.

Oh, the irony.
He did in all fairness make a good point, you can critique something without hating it, you just need to grow up, most people who you've responded to have made good points and have explained thier views with valid arguments, which you just respond with "oh this forum is shitty and full of halo haters!!" yet you still continue to be active on it.

1. Swat was the only thing I could find that took ANY semblance of skill.
Are you stupid? Swat doesn't take any skill to play because, like CoD, it's just BAM headshot = No skill. Every other game mode involves THINKING about taking down the enemies shields and then the process by which you finish them off in order to gain the point, that takes skill. Knowing that you just have to aim for the head each time DOES NOT take skill which is why Swat and the CoD games DO - NOT - TAKE - SKILL

1. Not really, You pick up the controller, hold down the right trigger while aiming at someone and they often fall down. You can jump about, run left or right, hide behind something or just stand still and complain when the laser hits you. I play Halo 3. but not that much. The highest I got online was Lieutenant with a skill 19. I stopped playing for about 4 months. Picked the game up last week and managed to win 80% of games. It doesn't require skill at all.

2. Maybe. I don't use much other than the Assault Rifle, Shotgun and Battle Rifle.

3. Mongooses are good at getting from A to B, Warthogs are probably the only decent vehicle. Ghost are good for a quick splatter if everyone is so unaware they can't notice the LARGE red dot on their radar coming towards them.

4. Some maps you like, some you don't. It's a real shame that you need all DLC to be able to play the game right now. I got Heroic for free, and had legendary given to me, but I have no intention of paying for Mythic. Maybe when it gets given to me or is free.

5. It has its moments. Sometimes you can find something, other times you can leave the room, get a cup of tea and a crumpet, come back and it's still looking for that elusive 8th person.

6. Deep Combat? Are you serious? See point #1.

7. You mean the pickups? They give a little diversity and can be used as an IWIN button against some poor sap but they don't do much aside from that.

8. Fun. We were playing around with that for hours.

9. Replay Viewer? Meh. I rather play the game.

10. What? How? // Saw your reply as "Aesthetics". How does that affect the gameplay in the slightest aside from one of the helmets makes you look like a fly?

11. It works well on consoles because its got a cult following and its the "must have" game on the 360. And if it was released on the PC it would probably be less popular because of how quickly you can aim with a mouse and keyboard. As for saying it rivals what the PC offers I like you to elaborate on that. In what way does it rival what PC games offer?

12. No. Don't Agree. Things move a little. You crash into something it moves about 3 meters. If it had something like the Source, Havok or CryEngine I might be a bit more impressed.

What? How does having a certain armour affect your play style? It's not like they add any extra protection or anything. I thought the campaign was mediocre, multiplayer is fun with friends or if you reach upper levels.

Ugh...

I'm all for calling Halo an over rated series and such, and even I'm getting sick of seeing these threads.

If you don't like it, don't play it... jeez!!!

We all got sick of hearing it back in 07.
