Here's a list of reasons why its fun to play:
1. Takes skill to play
2. Extremely well balanced weapons
3. Vehicles
4. Varied, diverse, and well designed maps
5. Matchmaking system is great
6. Amazingly deep combat
7. Equipments
8. Forge
9. Theater
10. Armors heavily affect your play style.
11. Works so well on consoles that it rivals with PC offerings
12. Very cool physics
1. Not really, You pick up the controller, hold down the right trigger while aiming at someone and they often fall down. You can jump about, run left or right, hide behind something or just stand still and complain when the laser hits you. I play Halo 3. but not that much. The highest I got online was Lieutenant with a skill 19. I stopped playing for about 4 months. Picked the game up last week and managed to win 80% of games. It doesn't require skill at all.
2. Maybe. I don't use much other than the Assault Rifle, Shotgun and Battle Rifle.
3. Mongooses are good at getting from A to B, Warthogs are probably the only decent vehicle. Ghost are good for a quick splatter if everyone is so unaware they can't notice the LARGE red dot on their radar coming towards them.
4. Some maps you like, some you don't. It's a real shame that you need all DLC to be able to play the game right now. I got Heroic for free, and had legendary given to me, but I have no intention of paying for Mythic. Maybe when it gets given to me or is free.
5. It has its moments. Sometimes you can find something, other times you can leave the room, get a cup of tea and a crumpet, come back and it's still looking for that elusive 8th person.
6. Deep Combat? Are you serious? See point #1.
7. You mean the pickups? They give a little diversity and can be used as an IWIN button against some poor sap but they don't do much aside from that.
8. Fun. We were playing around with that for hours.
9. Replay Viewer? Meh. I rather play the game.
10. What? How? // Saw your reply as "Aesthetics". How does that affect the gameplay in the slightest aside from one of the helmets makes you look like a fly?
11. It works well on consoles because its got a cult following and its the "must have" game on the 360. And if it was released on the PC it would probably be less popular because of how quickly you can aim with a mouse and keyboard. As for saying it rivals what the PC offers I like you to elaborate on that. In what way does it rival what PC games offer?
12. No. Don't Agree. Things move a little. You crash into something it moves about 3 meters. If it had something like the Source, Havok or CryEngine I might be a bit more impressed.
