A friend of mine has a decent idea/discussion for a thread, but he's suspended. So I'm posting it for him.

Well i never read any of the books so my only knowledge is from the games themselves. Ive heard it could take place on a planet called Onyx but im not sure. Who could be involved, i have a feeling its going to be other spartans, because if they have learned anything teams of spartans KICK ASS and keep peoples imaginations running, and maybe just possibly, the forunners, its all just a feeling. I have no clue what the threat could be this time, maybe its that ship/gate thingy but i aint got a clue. Thinking of how the gameplay will be like, people say "i liked this better in halo 3" or "this is much better in reach" i think they will combine the best of both worlds for the best feedback from players, the game has to FEEL like the original Halo series but LOOK like Reach/Wars/ODST ya know?
So im asking all of you whats your reply on the above questions? For those of you that are not fans of the Halo series what aspects of the story/gameplay makes you not like it?
Setting it on Onyx sounds interesting, but I'm wondering how they'd do it. Since if you read the books you'll know that...
the whole planet is made out of Sentinels, and was kind of falling apart.
So that doesn't sound like it'll be set there. I think it'll take place in some forerunner structures.
Or maybe 343 will go balls out and turn whatever was in the teaser into a time machine and send chief back in time where he becomes the protagonist of the Marathon series.
I want Master Chief to take on the remaining forerunner gods who did not sacrafice themselves to destroy the flood. *complete speculation of remaining forerunners*

Well in ghost of onyx - They could have been simply transported there instantly without even realizing it. and simply thought "well I guess we're inside the planet."

Halo
Other Spartans/Halsey depending on my theory?
Threat:
God knows what the fore-runners decided to keep locked up on a PLANET that have probably gotten out. Though my current theory is that the planet is eating them.
As to what the setting is, I haven't got a clue. But if we're talking about aliens, I can't imagine the covenant would be there since Chief and Cortana found the damn thing by accident after jumping to slipspace. And it's a Forerunner structure most likely so The Flood is a possibility. As much as that make me sad.
Onyx is destroyed, so it has VERY little chance of taking place there. The surviving Spartans are in another dimension which was accessible through the Onyx portal, which is now destroyed so presumably the only other way to get there is through some crazy slipspace trickery or something.
It seemed to me like it's going to take place on the Legendary Planet, which is some kind of Forerunner structure. If it's a shield world, then there's all sorts of ancient things that could be in there, such as rampant AIs and surviving Forerunners.
I don't know if I want Halo 4 to be honest, I would've just liked it if Chief died at the end of 3 like was initially hinted at, but they had to add the bit at the end, just in case they needed to fill their wallets a little more
My first question would be: Is it going on to the PC?.......Never mind, I think I know the answer to that and besides why should I care when I cannot play Halo 3
I just hope Jun makes an appearance. He survived Reach, after all.
Would be totally awesome if him and Chief met up....
I care not for context, or if it was for one brief cutscene, but I want him in Halo 4.
Also, both 4 and Anniversary look awesome. Colour me excited.
Fuck MW3 now, I'm getting BF3 and Halo Anniversary.
