Halo 4 your thoughts

Since my original post got deleted, I'll put my reaction in a way the mods can be happy that is filtered for their perception of the typical forum user here:

Halo 4 = Another extraneous game for tossers (happy, mods? I dumbed my extravagant post for your enjoyment). Twats.

We get it. You don't like Halo. Also, don't hate on the mods. They are just here to try & keep everyone happy. That includes you.

I'm not trying to incite an argument here but surely you can see what you have said is inflamatory (spelling?) & would rile people up?

I see your comparison to ME. Which I freaking love too, but it's a very different game with a very different narative.

The expanded Universe for Halo is very deep. We are talking several different story arks with very different characters. This involves books, comics, alternative games (Wars ODST Reach) even the Animatrix-esque Legends.

I know ME has a couple of books. I also have no doubt there will be further titles after 3 is done with. Will you hate on that to?

I'm probably rambling like one of you afformentioned "extraneous tossers", but it always comes down to... if you don't like it... Don't play it. What's so hard to understand?

Please don't respond to people like him. The best thing you can do is report and move on. Don't feed trolls or respond to obvious flame bait.

OT: I'm excited for it. Original? Of course it isn't, but its still nice to know that Halo will still be alive even after Bungie has left it behind. Also, Microsoft has owned the rights to Halo since Combat Evolved and anyone whose ever been to the Bungie Forum in the last 3 years knew that this was coming a mile away.

I kinda think this new Halo will be sort of like Reach was. Set in the same universe, but not really having to do much with the Halos. Otherwise, it would just be the same story over and over and over again. Although I am excited to see who or what the new enemies will be, I really, really hope it isn't just the Flood or the Covenant again. It will also be interesting to see how the Chief is as the sole protagonist (except for Cortana, but still). Before, you had all the UNSC guys. Now, its just him.

After Bungie earning me as a fan after all they do it's natural reaction for me to get excited for another Halo... but it's kinda surreal that they're not in charge of it anymore.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Halo 4. I don't think Microsoft really wants to ruin their most famous franchise but its possible.

I'm just worried Microsoft will try to pull a CoD on it and release each new release far too quickly. One of the big reasons why Halo has kept its quality so long is its longer development time of 3 years between each major release. Along with that Halo really has run its course pretty well IMO. It was definitely a defining icon of the last decade and had always been a defining face for gaming since 2001 until CoD took off.

Now would've been a great time to let it settle down a bit. Go on vacation and bring it back in a few years after CoD has died down. With the way its releases are going it can't keep its popularity much longer after MW3.

I don't know if the 343 studios people are committed to doing something good with the IP, but I do know that Microsoft is making Halo 4 to make tons of money, period. Microsoft would execute Master Chief in a public square if they knew it would make billions.

Hell, I would execute Master Chief for a fraction of that.

My favorite thing about Reach was no flood.

The biggest disappointment with Halo 3 is the fact that it's all human vs aliens with only a couple of instances in-game of humans+aliens vs aliens.

Hopefully the next trilogy will be light on or, completely devoid of those freaking flood. Couldn't stand those things. I like Master Chief and the original trilogy but I loved how much customization Reach had. Although I was a bit miffed that I got to chose my species preference but not my team preference. Go Blue!

I would love to see the Cheif land on the unkown planet and have it turn out to be Onyx. He then hears Dr. Hasley through his comm and she leads him to her location along with CPO Mendez and the remaining SPARTAN II's and III's and the rest is up to 343 industries.

For those wondering if the Forerunners are going to be included, it's almost guaranteed. That portal isn't human or Covenant, it's Forerunner. I'm thinking of a trilogy that focuses more on them, and since they may have gone back in time they may just play around with time. Maybe change a few things.

And since Cortana is going to go rampant soon, I'm wondering how they'll deal with that.
