It could be worse I admit, and I am cautiously optimistic but ultimatley I am not expecting too much which is a shame because it could be epic.
VERY LATE EDIT: Having now seen it properly (my internet is terrible right now) I can now say that it is still very clearly anime with the funny hair and occasional animation issues. To be honest the character models remind me of a cross between Miyazaki and Bleach in some sense and yes the ODST is kind of annoying but I still do like anime (not a fanatic but still) and I gotta admit it does capture the mood. Got the theme, the aliens are present... granted not prefect representations of who they are supposed to be (also where the hell are the elites?) but the grunts at least look descent, I just hope they do a fair job and show some of the Covenant's perspective.
I still think it's too early to judge, I mean putting it all together we get roughly four minutes of footage and I think it's still too early to tell. There are notable flaws that as both a Halo fan and a critic I can notice but other than that I think we are looking at a descent series which is really all I can hope for. It may well turn out to be an epic masterpiece of a series and even if it doesn't and turns out to be a massive failure so great is causes my testicles to shrivel up it still won't effect my enjoyment of Halo as a whole.
So I say wait and see, it so far looks good. I was grateful to see it use the music and it captured the feel of the franchise. I don't know about Spartans fighting like Goku or ODST's with Spiky red hair or Brutes with biker beards larger than what they were presented in the games. But I still think this could prove an enjoyable romp. Guess we'll find out, huh?
