Halo on PC

I wouldn't get it, Halo, all of them, are nothing special for FPS's.

They aren't as good as other games for PC like TF2 or Cod 2 and 4.


Halo got success on the basis that all the FPS's sucked on Xbox when it came out, and while it was nothing new, it was a solid game.

As Darkness says the best bit of Halo CE was that huge driving scene at the end which is the same with the other 2. It all culminates in a huge Drive through lots and lots of expolosions crushing Flood and Covernant under the tires of a warthog barreling down a very long open bit of road that could change at any second. Then again you could get just as much excitement by watching Die Hard 4.0. Also the reason that it was such a well selling game at the time was becuse the Graphics were amazing for a 2002 game. By no adays standers everything is very boxy.

I hear WSAD controls don't really fit for driving the vehicles, but otherwise I hear it's pretty good.

Then you hear wrong. The only way in which it wouldn't fit is if you didn't have hands and you have never played any driving game ever on a PC

You don't use WASD to control vehicles in Halo PC. W and S simply control forward and reverse and you simply point your mouse in the direction you wanna drive. So simply hold down W and aim with your mouse, easiest vehicle controls in a PC game ever.

lol very true. Although there is one more control which is ctrl which just makes the vehicle skid round when you try to do a corner which is really useful when you relise that you can simply skid round and round an enemy base on a map like Blood Gultch and kill them as they jump off by running them over, have the gunner mow everything down. Having said that you need to be seriously skilled at driving the Warthogs to get anything decent out of it.

halo pc worth the shot as long as you get the patches...ALL of them.
I enjoy still, because the violence helps make me feel better when I'm angry.
But If your looking for a Good PC FPS, Halo isn't the only one.

And ignore the Halo-Haters on here. It's by no means a perfect game, but too many people bash it because of the hype and because it "ruined the genre".

Partly this reason but mainly its a cult thing. Most peoples opinions are dictated by what Yatzee says and the propaganda of the stuff they hear from other people. The only way for you to know is to insall it and find out for urself what it's like. The only thing its actually good for is filling in the blanks of the story. It has a small cult fan base so theres not a lot of action about. You may as well do the campaign and bin it and move on to 2 (maybe though i personally skipped it) and then finish in the grand fireball which is Halo 3. Personally have found Halo 3 amazingly good at filling the summer void as there is so much change (even if Microsoft is a money pinching whore).
