Halo Reach Prediction

I have a feeling (it's probably more wishful thinking) that Noble Six, Reach's main character, is Master Chief in his pre-Halo 1 days.

Personally, I just really like playing as Master Chief. Obviously he's not a very complex character (keep in mind I havent read any of the books) but I just think he's cool. This apparaently being Bungie's last Halo game, I thinkthey may want to bring back a huge part of the series-- or not.

It's really just a guess, and I don't know it it's been falsified by Bungie (or anyone else). But I wanna get my idea out so I can get the credit when it winds up being true, jk.

So, has anyone noticed anything in the games, or the background material that helps or hurts this idea?

Very wrong.
If Halo Reach takes place during the final Covenant attack, (Which it does) then the Master Chief is currently either on bored the Pillar of Autumn or is destroying the database on a space station with the Spartans James and Linda. Also, It has not only already been declared as well as figured out, that Halo Reach will feature Spartan IIIs while the Chief is a Spartan II.

Love the optimism though!!!

Wasn't Master Chief grown in a tube, as in, not a real person before he was stuffed in that suit? Obviously he was a real person in a biological sense, but I mean... he didn't really have a history did he? Friends or lovers or any of that stuff?
No, He was not grown in a tank. He was kidnapped at the age of six and brutally trained as a soldier every day after.
It is also worth noting that he had several friends, one of which he meets again in the new Halo book of short stories.

You talking about Evolutions?

OT: I predict Emile's and/or Noble six's only line will be at the end of the game, such as "oh, shit" when covenant blow their brains out.
Or maybe something deeper. We'll see.

I reckon they will refer to The Pillar of Autumn at least once in the game

Even if you didn't read the novels, Noble six's background info sounds nothing like MC. Six is a lonewolf that works best alone. MC has no anti-social personality, he is just reserved. Oh and noble six is a Spartan 3, whereas MC was a 2, and the only Spartan-2 on the Noble 6 team is the big guy in the mix-matched colored armor (think the name is Jorge). I also think MC is on the Pillar of Autumn, at the time this game takes place, because this is just days before Reach gets glassed and the Pillar escapes and discovers the first Halo ring. I do hope they reference, in some way, some of the other spartans from the books. Maybe they can leave something behind like the audio recordings in Bioshock in the game to show the hardship of the Spartans, maybe even video logs... I hope think game goes more epic than any game.

As a bit of a Halo nerd, I look forward to screaming like a cheerleader to references from the book.

Hahahaha same, ill love if theres a section that at least refers to how some Spartans defend Admiral Whitcomb in the bunker and how the three Spartans threw a nuke into a carrier's grav beam, wiping out a valley of covenant.

Yeah i loved the books...

Nope. Not unless they're going to throw out all established expanded universe canon.

Master Chief was one of the original Spartan II's, and was the ranking officer for the Spartans (hence why he is Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan 117). During the battle of Reach, he is in orbit destroying some navigational data before the covenant can get to it.

Now, I do think it would be pretty badass if we got to play that mission. Maybe as a special level after the credits (kind of like the VIP mission in MW).

It's a Halo game, people will line up to buy it even if the game turns to shit.....and even then the reviewers will give it a 9.5 rating.

I mean it's not like we're talking about Bioshock 2 where everyone started crying because there weren't enough upgrades, and it's back to Rapture which should have been no surprise...0o

Although personally, I think it looks pretty good, as much as I think the hype is overrated I still like the series and Master Chief.

I just don't know if this is the best way to end the series....the game looks like a middle installment instead of an ender.

I've heard the series will continue, just without Bungie, but it's obvious from then on Halo just won't be worth what it is now...=/
