Don't Do It! You have so much to live for... Wait a minute. >.>Madara XIII said:Well Guess I should go die, ain't wasting my money.
No, I can't... I wish I could but my only thought about the work that they put into it is that they could have spent the time on something more... productive maybe? And I did ignore it (hence why I turned the shit off after less than a minute). What bothered me and prompted me to post was the "go die" comment.Batsamaritan said:So sue them, I like halo (not an uber fan though, I prefer half-life, fallout 3 and oblivion) its better than crysis (which I just finished) and the fanboys can be annoying as hell but no more than the final fantasy games and those games are totally shallow crap.xxcloud417xx said:Yet another person that doesn't seem to think there are better things in life than Halo... and wow this is such a childish fanboy song... please don't tell ppl to die either, not cool. and neither is this song. Sad more than anything...
If a fanboy annoys you ignore them (even if its hard to evade the tards on live.)
Yeah the song is fairly juvenile but hell a lot of work seems to have ghone in to it and i can appreciate it for that.
Not a fanboy, just a harsh sarcastic declarative statement based upon what a real fanboy would say, sheesh. I actually do not really like Halo: Reach very much beyond quick play sessions. On the other hand this song I find really incredible, catching the atmosphere of what Reach could have been beyond its multiplayer. Additionally when I say die, you are supposed to say, "Oh wait he is being sarcastic". Is it really that hard to ask first? Finally all those references to negative childish behaviour is supposed to be funny. I do not mind you not finding it funny I am just surprised you did not like the song all in it self. To each their own the saying goes.xxcloud417xx said:Yet another person that doesn't seem to think there are better things in life than Halo... and wow this is such a childish fanboy song... please don't tell ppl to die either, not cool. and neither is this song. I find it wasteful... I mean you can do so much more with video and audio editing software than a cheap Halo Rap... I saw some people make really cool creative stuff. I'm sorry I just find this lacks any originality, creativity, cleverness or anything that could make it somewhat seem like an artform. I've seen some really cool videos that had a lot of thought put into them (not the best animated or such) but they had the above qualities that made it stand out and make me appreciate it as an artform. This just really failed at that for me.Saulkar said:Not a fanboy, just a harsh sarcastic declarative statement based upon what a real fanboy would say, sheesh. Ok give me some links, I would like to see some of these videos, might be something that really interests me. Quick question, serious answer please. If a person creates an intellectual property but then it is forgotten and all evidence of its existance is lost to the current generation then some time later a person creates something almost identical without having ever heard of the previous i.p. before, should it be considered unoriginal by the ignorant or universally labeled as such, even by those having never witnessed its likes before, should they pann it for lacking something new that from their perspective it is not?xxcloud417xx said:I find it wasteful... I consider many things to be original in a sense even if they are copies of something already made simply because the artist of the new work is able to capture the original feel of the first one so amazingly well that it's almost freakishly captivating. However pertaining to your question, if the work was forgotten, how are we to know that the new work was a copy anyway?Saulkar said:Ok give me some links, I would like to see some of these videos, might be something that really interests me. I apologize for the question being so one sided but surprise with your answer.
You sir gave the most mature and thoughtout comment yet. I tip my hat to you.Vrex360 said:Somehow I suspect if this exact same thing had been done for Half Life, people would be praising it. Praising how they were able to put so many words and phrases about the game into praise filled lines and the occasional clever joke or insult thrown in.
But of course, it's not about Half Life or any other game. It's Halo and that means it's bad. Apparently.
Apparently any form of extravagant praising or signs of liking or enjoying a game is the mark of a true fanboy. Even though I never heard such negative press for the fan made Half Life film clip that was done and that would have taken even more time to make and again was something fueled entirely by fandom.
As it stands, it's amusing. Yes it's immature and kind of silly but then again it is a RAP SONG about a VIDEO GAME. It's not something that's trying to take itself seriously.
Christ Almighty, the bits about Xbox Live I perceive as more on the lines of 'parody' then actual sincerity. The guy is joking, making lols essentially.
Anyway, as it stands. I thought it was a clever and entertaining little number that had some great timing with what was on screen along with the music. Some of the lyrics are a little childish but still, it's better than anything I could have done.

As for some links:
All The Lovers music video by Kylie Minogue is a brilliant piece of work. (though it's not a homemade thing I will admit) (no link though but you can Youtube it easily)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1UPMEmCqZo
Above link is "Escape from City 17" by the Purchase Brothers (you should check out their website too they have some other nice stuff in their portfolio) now before accusing me of fanboyism towards Half-Life I want to point out that though I do love the Half-Life Franchise, my interest in this video is based on the quality (it looks VERY professional) of it and how they were able to truly capture some of Half-Life in a short video.
I have seen a few others but I can't really find a link (let alone recall some of them) at the moment. But definitely check out Purchase Brothers stuff. It's really well made.
Just do not inhale the smoke, DVD combustion might be pretty toxic depending on who made it.Hazzaslagga said:Hmmm
