Rocket Launcher - The first weapon in the list that has anything notable about it. It essentailly functions in the same fashion as a modern disposable anti-tank weapon but it gets two shots out of the deal. The rockets are unguided and clearly are not terribly effective at piercing armor. Worse still, the rockets travel disconcertingly slow meaning trying to hit a moving target would be fantastically difficult. The fact that you get two shots out of the launcher before needing to reload is perhaps the weapon's only perk, but this is handily counterbalanced by it's tremendous bulk, which would force it to be carried as the primary and perhaps only weapon of a modern non-super soldier.
The rockets in two of the games feature a lock-on/tracking system, and are fairly quick.

Not to mention, it gives off barely ANY visible sign of being fired, unlike every other disposable RPG.

Energy Sword - given that nobody wears armor that is designed to deflect a sword these days (ballistic plates would serve somewhat well), the energy sword is rendered more or less irrelevent because it's key advantage over a normal sword is it's ability to bypass armor.
It's not just armour that stops normal swords, it's muscle tissue and bone. The Energy Sword wouldn't have trouble with it, at all.

Not to mention it has a lock on, and lunge.
Neither the lock on nor lunge were functions of the sword itself in halo. Instead, it locks on because you're stuck in an animation and the lunge is to help make up for the painfully short range. While I'm not master chief (and thus don't have power armor and cybernetics) even when I fence I find that I use the lunge regularly. The actual move that he does isn't really a lunge though - it's more of a fleche.

All that aside, while bone might prove a challenge for many blades (primarily cutting weapons), neither flesh or clothing is. Plus, any sword designed for piercing (such as the Rapier, court sword or small sword) are able to handily pierce bone. That said, the ability to cut bone is hardly important for a sword as they've proven plenty lethal without such tricks which is my point. The energy sword is essentially nothing more than a sword of infinite sharpness. Cool it may be but at the end of the day it's STILL a sword and it STILL isn't a good idea (generally) to use one in combat.

Fuel rod cannon.

It looks awesome and it makes an awesome sound. Plus it's actually powerful.

They say they're bringing back the old pistol for Halo: ODST, but they said that about Halo 3, too.
The ODST pistol is actually the Halo 2 pistol with a few attachments (sound suppressor and smart link scope specifically) and the Halo 3 pistol is supposedly a magnum version of the Halo 1 pistol. But really no game has the same pistol.

Halo 1 - M6D
Halo 2 - M6C
Halo 3 - M6G
Halo 3 ODST - M6C/SOCOM or M6S

I'm gonna say that I want an Energy Stave. Those are the halberds used by Honor Guards, they have a plasma blade.

I'd be mannin' a Scarab or a Banshee.
For a weapon you could hold, probably an Energy Sword or Spartan Laser, just so I could hang it on the wall and show people.

Shotgun. Nothing particularly special, but bear in mind that they don't actually make 8-gauge shotguns in the real world: the recoil could probably dislocate your arm! Provided I managed to modify it so that that didn't happen, imagine the fun I could have with it. And imagine the noise it would make when you fired it! Glorious!

Energy Sword. The activation noise it makes is just...mmm... I love it. Plus it doubles up as a torch if I'm lost in the dark.
I'd rather have a lightsabre. They don't run out of ammo.
But that's the best part! you get to punch people!

I have to go with the Brute Shot.

Not only is it a Gernade Launcher but it doubles as a freakin Pizza Cutter.

I'd go with the oddball.
Because nothing says death like being beaten by a skull.

Or the bomb. Because it's a bomb. It goes boom and things die. It's progressive.

I would like either the brute shot or the needler.

Then again a plasma pistol would be fun, especially since its overcharged shot can stop vehicles.
If a vehicle, I would get a wraith or chopper.
