I thought it was cool. What do you guys think?
Anyone have any more neat video game inventions?

Interesting but the DS already has the capabilities to play the N64 games, I don't think this would be a great item if mass produced, unless they started making new N64 games, which will not happen obviously.

Nintendo would be better coming out with an analogue stick periphery for the DS to make their N64 conversions work better.

Nifty. If it had a long-lasting recharging internal battery system and perhaps better button placement, I might possibly consider perhaps thinking about grabbing one if I have enough money.

The lack of batteries makes it retarded. Its just a stationary console with a built-in screen.
Thankyou for your educated input.

Meanwhile, it comes as no surprise to me that this is on Ben Heck's site. The man is essentially a god at these things - he has built PS2, PS3 and xBox 360 based laptops, as well as being one of the first people to put an entire NES inside an NES controller (port and all).

The DS is already a N64 in terms of technical capabilities. While it's a feat of fan-engineering, it's not, nor do I think it's supposed to be, a commercial product.

i have a feeling this is fake, but then again i have a tendency to be skeptical. when that person died at the walmart the day after thanksgiving or whatever i thought it was just an urban legend.

It would be cooler if the DS already didn't do this (heck even the PSP can) but still decent although the console laptops are better.

A pity it's not a real product so much as somebody hacking something together. I'd want one. Maybe with downloadable N64 games over a Wii wireless connection instead of an actual cartridge.

Ben Heck has done it again. Now I want to see him complete his one-handed controller he was building for someone who lost of their hands. Unless he already did, at which point, I'd wonder where the hell I was to miss it.

Actually, there are a lot of handheld systems made from home consoles like a Dreamcast, Playstation, etc. handheld. They are all really cool. This one guy made all of them. If I can find a link, i'll post it.

I think he completed that project. Then proceeded to make another for the other hand. Now you know who to call when you lose one of your manipulators but still want to play games.

What would that thing look like playing a game? I don't think any N64 games were meant to be played on a screen that small... seems it would all get blurry and crowded.
Probably fine.

Smaller screen at the same resolution would be less blurry and crowded.

Or for people who want to play multiplayer and have no friends.

edit: Did anybody see a z button? I think I may have missed it.
