I hear what you're saying, but the games feel identical. The combat, the flow, the animation...they could be siblings, they're so close.Fearzone said:Does God of War truly own the concept of someone running around with melee equipment, killing nearby things at the push of a button?
Perhaps we can discount Diablo which has more a top-down RTS feel, but Rune was 3D and third person. Good times.
And it's not even controversy that works with the poem either. Remember that whole "Sin to Win" thing a while ago? Dante, being the good Catholic that he was, would be rolling in his grave over such a barefaced contradiction of the themes and values that he wrote into that poem.Internet Kraken said:That's exactly why they did butcher the source material. Tell people that your new game is just a God of War clone in hell and people will probably ignore it. But when you have it based off of a famous piece of literature, then it will get a lot more attention. Everything in this game has been designed to create controversy.yeah_so_no said:-snip-
That made think about how awkward it would be to buy this game if the clerk had knowledge of it's contents.zeldakong64 said:This game seems more and more like it won't make the M rating. I've heard about trophies awarded for killing babies, but apparently the babies are falling from the exposed breasts of a giant demon lady that you stab the shit out of. Um. Should a game like this be able to get an M rating? Don't get me wrong, I'm totally buying this, but is it a bit much for an M
Oh the irony.matrix3509 said:Granted, I won't be getting it anyway because its published by EA. Fucking grow up people.
Wrath= Anger So, maybe someone who fights with nothing but brute strength. His appearance kinda sounds easy enough to imagine.MarsProbe said:Lust and Gluttony may somewhat explain themselves but I wonder the likes of Wrath and Envy will be handled.
Also, this.Textbook Bobcat said:I'm placing my faith in this.
Many will see it as a butchering of literature, but hopefully even 1% of the people that play it may read the poem.
If they do, I'll gladly accept its inaccuracies and blatant, outright offense mongering.
Truth. Right. Here.NickCooely said:It's a poem for gods sakes not your first born son. Just let it go.
Literature has been butchered, flagellated, mangled, mauled and shredded to far worse of a degree than this throughout the ages.iain62a said:As someone who has read The Divine Comedy, this really pisses me off.
Butchering my fucking literature.
I don't care if it's a good hack 'n' slash game, it's pissing on the beauty of the poem.
This, word-for-word. It doesn't matter if you've read the goddamn thing, you need to drop the elitist pretenses; nobody's impressed.traceur_ said:Truth. Right. Here.NickCooely said:It's a poem for gods sakes not your first born son. Just let it go.
The literature freaks need to shut up, no one is butchering anything, your jizz-stained copy of the divine comedy is still just the same. I haven't heard anything about EA running around burning your books so shut up.
matrix3509 said:God people need to get off their fucking high horse. If they made it closer to the real story it would be a fucking movie.
As if the Comedy is somehow off-limits. Get real.
They've done everything else possible to be complete idiots.traceur_ said:Truth. Right. Here.NickCooely said:It's a poem for gods sakes not your first born son. Just let it go.

I did briefly think of a berserker type individual for a wrath-based enemy, but thought that seemed a bit run of the mill, seeing that we're supposed to be in hell on this game. Hopefully they will come up with something more unique....have seen enough big angry enemies playing Arkham Asylum to last me a while...Saucycardog said:Wrath= Anger So, maybe someone who fights with nothing but brute strength. Envy=Jealousy Probably another hot chick who can copy your abilities.
