So, I am going to the film with this girl.
You could say it is a date but you can also just say, we're hanging out or just meeting.

I personally say I "meet" people and never call it a date.

What would you people call it when you are going to someplace with a girl or a guy?
Would you say you are going to a meet, date them or just hanging out? or even something else.

Also, if you are going with a group or even just 2 people. What would it be then?
Because in my oppinion dating and hanging out seems the same?

I'd only call it a date if I am in a relationship with them.
I'd only call it hanging if there are gallows involved.
I just say that I am going out with them to wherever.

Well, I consider going out to eat a date. Like, something romantic. Like if you're going to the film to be romantic for the girl, that's a date. But if it's just to have a good time, that's just hanging out. Know what I mean?

Meeting or hanging out. Never refer to it as a date to the person you're seeing, certainly not the first couple of times. This still gives leeway if any romantic aspirations fail to pay off for you to claim you were seeing each other as friends.

What is a "meet"? I have never heard this term before. I first took it to be slang for "hanging out," or some other similar word, but then you used hanging out as it's own option...

Meet, in all the cases. Mostly because I've never dated anyone. I don't think I'd use the word date even if I had though.

I think it's also used as hanging out. THough I use that as an arranged meeting.
Like when someone lives a few hours away I think.
Or meeting someone for the first time?
