They used a little rubber ball in the middel of the keyboard didn't they?

Isn't that what they used to have with laptops a while back? It's definitely not the precursor of the mouse; before the mouse, people just used the keyboard, since many OSs at the time didn;t have GUIs.

As for the article, happy birthday black Microsoft V.2 optical mouse. May we have many a merry time fragging noobs online and AI offline.
