*Toradora... its a sweet slice of life / comedy series. It has a slightly sad 2nd series but its still sweet. It has a decent lenght to it (20 something episodes)
*Rozen Maiden, the first series is good but... i found the 2nd series a bit depressing though, especially because of a somewhat abrupt ending with little closure. (better off with the manga imo) DESU~
*Hyakko, another slice of life/comedy... its more quirky then toradora and shorter too
*I primarily watch animes that have some dark twist to them but these few are a couple of my favourite exceptions... i HIGHLY recommend Toradora.
If your not too concerned about genre i have a few other options but they might be a bit too mushy for some. Most of these animes seem to carry with it a vibe of girls only BUT believe it or not, they are all directed at male audiances (rozen maiden is actually aimed at male college students and upwards which was a surprise for me.)
If you want i can PM you a couple of decent anime streaming sites with HUGE selections of dubbed/subbed animes/movies or manga viewing sites with a good number of books to choose from.(you might end up a bit of a recluse depending on how affected you are by anime
