I played through the entire story mode. So damn good! I'm glad I called out sick today. 10th anniversary of the Dreamcast, Beatles Rock Band, it doesn't get any better than this.

This game makes me feel like a real rock star more than any other music game has ever done. I really like the early venues in the game and all the screaming girls. It really gets me into the game. I also like how there's generally more going on in the crowd than people headbanging like in every other game.

i don't really see the point in buying it to be honest, i'd rather spend the same ammount of money on a guitar and actually learn to play their songs than pay out for the extortionately expensive gear you need for rock band. i mean, just because you play the game doesn't actually make you a beatle, if anything it actually takes you further away from being a beatle. but then i just don't like rock band in general.

Because it's FUN! You feel like a rock star playing this game. The operative word there being "like." That's one of the draws of these types of games.

On the other hand, you can actually learn an instrument, but you might not feel like as much of a rock star unless you keep a canned crowd track around and play it while you play your instrument. If you make it up on stage and actually become a rock star, well, then congrats to you, but you're not just feeling like a rock star at that point. You would actually be a rock star!

I just went out and bought in on my lunch break. I like the Beatles, but my wife Loves them. I wish I could have called in sick to play it. I also had to buy a new xbox to play it since mine gave me the one red ring over labor day. I can't wait to play while my guitar gently weeps.

I'm planning to get the standalone game, if it's compatible with the original Rock Band's instruments. The only thing that's kept me from enjoying these rhythm based games more is that they're more often than not filled with music I've either never heard of or do not like. This is like an expansion for players with more classic tastes.

This argument has been going on since GH first dropped all those years ago. Get over yourself. Seriously, you're not cool, you're merely another nerd on the internet obsessed with one-upmanship.

Bile duct emptied, I took a day off yesterday for an entirely different reason (Hint: Don't eat at Burger King or any of their derivatives). A mate of mine sent me a message, telling me she'd seen the Beatles pack at the local JB. So off I trotted, still clutching my churning stomach, only to find that all they had on offer was the full set or the stand-alone game. As my previous fake plastic instruments have all been destroyed due to my large, clumsy fingers and their cheap, tacky design (2 of the GH3, 2 of the WTs), I opted for the full set, despite already having a fake plastic drumkit.

Dropped my cash down, open it up and pull out a fake plastic Höfner 500/1. That's when the awesome truly kicked in. What followed next was a psychedelic adventure of fab proportions. Worth every cent.

Because in rockband you can have a couple of friends playing these toys for fun. But they are never as dedicated as the actual leader of the band so it is harder to know bass and play with your friends no matter how many times you tell them to practice.

who said anything about being cool? and just who am i one-upping by saying i don't like rockband? i just don't really like rockband all that much, and definitely don't want to spend my hard earned money (and i mean literally ALL my hard earned money) on a game that gives a thin illusion of being a rock star. i get why you'd want to play it round someone else's house, i mean, it is fun, but, like i said, the ammount it costs and the fact that playing even guitar hero on your own let alone rock band is a pretty hollow experience mean i don't see the point in buying it (it costs at least £120 if you only get the game and a guitar for fucks sake).

There's one like you in every Rockband or Guitar Hero thread.

"Man, fake plastic guitars are so lame, people should just go and buy real musical instruments, then devote years of their life to practice, instead of getting instant gratification from a videogame."

Then again, all the arguments in the world don't sum up you lot as well as this [http://xkcd.com/359/].

everyone else at least argued the case for rockband, and i agreed with a lot of their points. but what still remains is the fact that the experience costs a fucking bomb and isn't fun or realistic enough to be worth it.

i suppose disparaging a popular game on a games website was always going to get the fanboys going, but even the most ardent guitar hero/rock band fanboy was more reasonable than you. you're worse... you're kinda like a guitar hero fascist, and. what's more, you're a total, fucking, asshole. fuck you. goodbye.

What's worst is the majority, of those saying it's all fake, are not even good at Rock Band or Guitar Hero.

Or actual guitar, for that matter.

I've got several mates who play guitar who love the rhythm games, because they teach them timing and punish them so horribly when they fail at it. The drumkits aren't perfect, but when you're on expert, the timing is one-to-one and if you do go to the extreme of getting an electric drumkit and doing the conversion, it's as good a teacher as you're ever likely to get. Then there's the vocalist part. The words, the tone, the pitch, it's all there for you. I've seen horrible singers suddenly correct their off-key squawking and those who flatly refuse out of shyness suddenly discover what an amazing vocal range they have, thanks to Rock Band.

One of the many reasons that the tools of the world who whinge about the fakeness really grate against the back of my skull. You know that little spot. The same point that rusty nails down a blackboard hits.

Believe me, being able to 5 star or 100% the song in the game on expert makes it much, much easier to play in real life.

Especially something with a relatively intricately timed riff.

It was 20 years ago today that Sgt Peppers taught the band to play. They've been goin in and out of style, but they're guarunteed to raise a smile!

But if you want money for people with minds that hate, all I can tell you is "brother, you have to wait"!

Shes got a ticket to ride, and she dont care!

The Beatles rock. Too bad Let it be, In My Life, and Hey Jude arent in there.

Although the Beatles were a fantastic band, I don't think I'll be buying an entire game entirely devoted to them.
Seem like a waste money to buy a guiaterhero-ish game devoted to just one band.

I won't be getting the game, but I did listen to all Beatles today while doing homework and waiting for classes and such.
