just thought i'd pop in and ask what everybody is doing today/tonight?

for me it'll be slaving away in the kitchen for the next 2 or 3 hours getting al the snackages ready for later (in my infinite wisdom i invited half the neighbourhood round for the evening)
but yea once the cookings out of the way ill be enjoying a night of terrible tv , fairly sozzled neighbours and of course fireworks. (coz nothing says happy new year like playing with fireworks drunk)

I've got nowt planned for New Years. I'm at home with my folks for it this year, and they've always preferred a quiet New Year. So, likely what'll happen is we'll sit down and watch Jools Holland's Hooternanny in the run-up to New Year and have a glass of champagne to finish. Maybe watch some of the fireworks over our street. Nothing special, nothing fancy.

I'm going away to my best friend and her grandma to celebrate there. My neighbors will be partying hard, so I need to go someplace else in order not to have the day ruined by loud music.

It's the first year i'm having a quiet night in.

My wife has to work and the kids are staying at their Grans for a couple of days. I was supposed to be going out with the lads but i'm not in the mood for a night out on the piss so they are popping round for a few hours, have a few drinks and watch a couple of shitty films (it's a rule that while having alcohol we must watch B Movies, no idea why but we've done it for years).

I haven't 'done' New Years for... shit... call it 13 years now. Too much hassle and bullshit.


Also, it's 2013 and still no sight of a flying fucking car.

kinda surprised how many of you are having a quiet one, nothing wrong with that of course but still.
but thats mostly just me being a huge fan of newyears eve. all the fun of christmass without having to give presents or deal with people i dont like much.. also..fireworks.

I'm 39, the thrill of standing around for a hours trying to get into my usual boozer because a million and one cunts also want to get in there has loooooooooong past.

Not to mention I've gotten too fucking old to want to deal with fuckwits looking for fight.

I'm at work right now until 3, then it's back home to spend a quiet, snowy evening with my family.

My brother, sister-in-law, and nephew are coming over too, so it should be a fun night.

It's New Year? I almost forgot until A) The Escapist changed the walls and B) A couple of threads brought it up.
Needless to say, I don't give a shit about New Years. It's really just another day and a reminder that I should put /13 whenever I'm writing out the date. For me it'll be a simple evening of Borderlands 2 until about 2am then I'll watch some Black Lagoon.

Staying at home, passing the time with anything that comes to mind while the youngsters turn the neighbourhood into a veritable minefield. Fortunately it's raining, meaning it won't be too bad this year.

I helped my dad through the first two levels of Halo. He did really well (and enjoyed it for the most part) for someone whose last game played was Aperion (Centipede knockoff), 15 years ago. I had a proud.
