But I'd travel any other way before flying. If I have to go overseas I'll go by boat.

If I was travailing by air, I would just because I think the TSA make airlines safer. I have a problem with the air-line industry being too large. I see a day when, if you travel, it will be by rail, car, or bus.

I have a problem, also, with people making the assumption that this is invasion of privacy (they are professionals, the scanners data cannot be uploaded to the net without red-tap and not to just any site but the TSA data network only). I do not think the TSA agents enjoy their jobs. In fact, Everyone who refuses to comply with TSA should be kicked out of the airport and not allowed to fly. No refunds for those people, you knew the security going to the airport.

Well I think he's being a bit silly and over-reactive in that case.

If airlines have a better chance of catching potential troublemakers and/ or terrorists at the cost of seeing my little chap on a full body scan whenever I go on holiday, then so be it.

Having said that, I dont mind being scanned, but I dont particularly want a burly airline official sticking his hand down my boxers in search of semtex or knives or some shit...

Is this just for going in and out of the USA though?
If so then I dont care seeing as I don't think i'll be going there in the foreseeable future anyway.

OT: Not me. I rarely fly, and most of my family lives in my state, so getting fondled unwillingly isn't on my "to-do" list this week. It kinda does suck for the people who do fly, though, especially for the people who had nekkid pictures of themselves leaked to the Internet thanks to the full-body scanners.

The difference being traveling by air is a commercial service to which there are many alternatives, while voting is a constitutionally protected right.

That said going to Europe from the US via a boat isn't exactly viable to most people given the distance.

Surely all these security measures are only going to encourage terrorists to either bypass them in order to cause greater fear (as I believe is their current motivation) or cause them to move on to bombing trains and busses.

I'm guessing not, 'cus if the had they would know it's really not that big of a deal. Unless you start doing some weird shit or talking back to the TSA agents you wont have any problems.

As for the full body scan, I can't imagine it gives the agents a much better view then form fitting clothing.

Seriously. It is not your constitutional right to fly without being searched. I understand that some people may not like it. I don't love it, but if they say they're gonna search me, I'm probably gonna agree. It's their airport.
