Hello all.

Regarding many threads, polls, discussions and such that I have seen on this forum, I thought it would be nice to create a Happy Gaming Moments, in light of the problems with gaming I have seen on other threads, forgive me if there have been threads like this before, but what can I say? I'm new here and want to make a positive contribution. :)

So, to the meat of the thread! Think back to the last time you got settled into a comfortable spot, flicked on the console and had an hour or two of pure fun, as in some of the best moments you've had whilst gaming. For me recently it has to be in Bad Company 2, regardless of what you may think of the game, I can honestly say I had an absolute blast, mostly because of the pleasant multiplayer crowd, who even when getting a good pasting from my surprisingly effective team were having a ball as well, no raging, no screeching minors, just guys/girls having a great time, moments like this make me happy to be a gamer indeed. :D

So, what about your Happiest Gaming moments? Teaming up in a multiplayer fps, beating that last boss or collecting the last star etc. Whatever that makes you feel happy to be a gamer.

Most recently? Playing against my best friend on the MK9 demo. We had a couple of beers, chilled out and ripped each others limbs off for an hour.

*Dead Space 2 Spoilers Ahead*

Finally defeating Nicole/The Marker at the end of Dead Space 2 a couple days ago. Took about fourteen or fifteen tries (partially because I didn't exactly bring the best weapon configuration, and the checkpoint didn't allow for a reconfiguration of such).

Now imagine the sheer relief of beating the boss, only to discover, as I relax to watch the game's conclusion that I'm not done with the game! Then, of course, I was absolutely terrified that if I lost in the final segment to escape that I'd return to the fight with Nicole. Thankfully, I beat that part on the first try.

Mass Effect 2: Meeting Wrex again. That made me squeal like a schoolgirl that has just spotted Robert Pattinson walking down her street. And it was perfected by having the ME1 theme in the background.

Lair of the Shadow Broker: The conclusion. D'awwww.

EDIT: Umm, you did mean in-game moments... right?

Yes I did :)

I know what you mean, ME2 certainly tugged my heartstrings a few times.

EDIT: Sorry for double post.

A friend of mine kept telling me to try out Super Meat Boy coming up to it's LIVE release. All he showed me though was the main logo for the game which is Meat Boy's face. It didn't really strike me as anything special so I never looked into it.

When I finally came around to trying the demo though.. The SECOND I started moving around the trial 1-1 level I knew I was going to buy the game. I absolutely love platformers and have spent an absurd amount of time playing N+.

Also playing Donkey Kong Country Returns, although it's definitely not what I grew up with, it did breath new life into a franchise that went on the backburner for a while. It's like a pretty Super Meat Boy.

Pretty much any time I play online with my friend. We're an awesome team in just about ever game, and our play styles compliment each other well. He's more of an up close and personal guy, and I favor sniping and medium ranged stuff. Sure, we lose sometimes, but we're good sports about it for the most part.

I honestly think that one of my happiest gaming moments recently though was a few weeks back when my friend and I were playing on Titan Mines in Dead Space 2 and the humans had assembled the shock mine to win. We barely made it to destroy the thing, they literally had one second left.

Then, when we were on the human team, we had assembled the shock mine and barely made it to win. They only needed to hit it one more time and we would have lost.

I love it when both teams are evenly matched because it makes it a real challenge.
