Happy Tonsil Day everybody

Ok, I lay claim that 24th of April shall be known as "Happy Tonsil Day"
So do you still have your tonsils?, when were they taken out?.

Basically the purpose of this rubbish thread is to celebrate those Surgeons with god complexes removing stuff from your body, it shall be celebrated each 24th of April by remeniscing of wht could have been with the various body parts so cruely taken away from you. And possibly send anonymous letters and cards to other peoples body parts? HEH?

I still have my tonsils, woot, I have however had a rib removed.

A minutes silence for Geek@heart's tonsil, they were taken early in their life 10 years ago.
A further minutes silence for my rib, I asked to keep it but it had to be insinerated by "the administration" (spooky voice)

furthermore! how many people here had that time bomb of an appendix removed?

as for the ridiculousness, yeah I agree, but the the stupid part of the thread (which I admit to myself, in the thread) overlays on me actually asking a serious question.

I had my tonsils out about 13 years ago. It wasn't a big deal. The laughing gas smelled like strawberries. I got real sick with the flu shortly after that.
I also had tubes installed into my ears during that operation because I had serious hearing problems as a ? year-old.

As far as I know every part of my body that I was born with is more or less still there except for that extra lung. If I could choose though I think I would go have my appendix taken out right now, just so that every time my lower abdomen starts to ache or I get nauseous I don't have to worry that my appendix is going to burst (yes I'm a fairly massive hypochondriac).

They were gonna take your tonsils out each time you had tonsillitus?? Whoah, I had it repeatedly (that is, taking a week off school every month) because of it and it took them years to get the things out.

(I also had my adenoids taken out too, woop to do. I learned about that after they made me take a hit off the pump went into surgery and then coming out. I also had to stay overnight because I wouldn't take a tube up the nose.

Anyways, had them taken out. No more infections every day of the week, yay for being healthier without parts of my body!

EDIT: I got to pick the flavor of my gas, I chose cherry. Quite good.

well we went to the doctors each time and he said if it was still the same in a week he'd try to get an operation for me
who knows, i could've ended up waiting ages too XD
