I always buy my games from retail. It just seems so foreign putting money online to get digital-only games. You don't get the case, manual to flip through, and artwork. It adds a certain ambiance and feel to rpgs, specifically.
Which is strange, because I mainly buy games for the Wii and DS... And PS2. They're all in a decent price-range and I like the variation in titles (not all dark and gritty).
I see digital purchases as dangerous. You aren't physically handing someone money (or a card); there's no sensation of actually buying something. And money is just numbers online. I grew up looking at digital numbers like defeating an enemy or earning EXP. Blowing gold on a new weapon. It's sometimes hard to separate the internet and anonymity from IRL and real consequences.
