Alundra for the PS1. I swear, that game had some of the hardest fucking puzzles known to mankind. Also, it's one of those games that never really tells you what to do next (think of a more unforgiving version of Zelda), minus a vague clue here and there. There was a period of time where I was just wandering around on the world map killing things for months before I figured out what to do on certain points. It was all worth it after I kicked Zelnas's ass. All without EVER looking at a guide mind you.

But hey, if you don't believe me, see for yourself. It's on PSN for 6 bucks now.

I could a couple of more but to be honest I do use guides every once in a while although sometimes just to find stuff more than the actual Walkthrough

Sonic the Hedgehog. Since I was only able to beat the game with a save function. I still have to go threw and beat the game in one run threw, but I got to the end.

Super mario world 99* save game completion, took me about 3 months.

Fallout 2, just fall out fucking 2, second hand copy no manual, nothing and invisible god damn pick pocketing kids.

Homeworld was pretty damn hard.

-------

However X-com 1 and Terror from the deep were just prolonged campaigns of being fucked in the ass by the computer in my pre-internet days. In xcom 1 it was because I didnt know that ufo ship leaders were not flagged as 'leaders' the same way base leaders were and thus you cant get to mars without them. Terror from the deep was just.....terror from the deep man, if you havent played it...you dont understand....you *cant* understand.

Also Chrysallids*....fuck you I was 13 years old and I didnt deserve that man, what do you mean it just eats my power armored god soldier? what do you mean it turned him into a zombie?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN I KILLED THE ZOMBIE AND IT BECAME ANOTHER CHRYSALLID???

WHY ARE THEY BOTHERING WITH ANY OTHER WEAPONS JUST SEND 3 CHRYSALLIDS IN A SCOUT SHIP AND AS SOON AS THEY HIT A POPULATION CENTRE THEY WIN!?!?!

just because I like hurting myself and people question why i need so many plasters I bought Xcom off of steam the other day.....

*seriously I've seen rockets bounce of these guys, lasers, anti-tank rounds, incendiary rounds, stun bombs they are like Jason Vorhees infected with the rage virus sent back in time by sky net to fuck your arse until it resembles an open cast mine. whats really fun is when you run into them and you're still packing standard issue ballistic weapons, they are godzilla, you are the JDF.

Devil May Cry 3 on Dante Must Die mode. Non-special edition. It took me a few months. I still have nightmares about that game.

Conviction on the hardest was funny. I tried at first to be super stealthy, kill as little as possible or stick to causing distractions. Then I realized it is infinitely faster and easier to just kill every dumb-ass AI.

Well yeah but thats not how fisher would do it and besides if u can't play it stealthy then ur not playing the game right, mostly I killed them as a predator, stalking them from the shadows, picking them off one by one and then using the execution move.

Yeah you drop down on them from pipes and then exploit the mark and execute. I still think Batman AA had better stalking mechanics....

ME2, insanity difficulty.

I've also beaten IWTBTG, but I wached a guy play through that once before trying myself; needless to say, it didn't help much.

Ninja Gaiden 2 on mentor mode took me about a solid month and I couldn't even get past chapter 5 on master mode, I'm good but not THAT good. DMC4 on all difficulties 'cept Hell or Hell mode, actually bought the game again to go through it.

I've beaten every game without any cheats or walkthroughs the first time. I always play "un-blind" in all every other subsequent playthrough, unless I've played the game a million times (Like Metal Gear Solid series, Resident Evil Series, etc)

Come to think about it, I needed to cheat to beat "Zombies ate my Neighbors"

I spent four days tracking down all of the Riddler's clues and the Spirit of Arkham entries in Batman: Arkham Asylum without any aid from the internet. I basically just spent the entire game with detective vision on.

I'd say for me, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, God of War 3 and Portal (Because my brain wasn't built for things like that).

Took just a day (obsessively, of course), but I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment regarding the game's awesomeness.
lol yeah its one of the best games ever made. as to why it took so long i got sidetracked scaning every thing ended up at the end of those 3 months with 95% of the game done never did find the other 5% though.....

I don't use guides... So I don't know... I haven't quite finished Super Meat Boy, so that soon. Ummmm... Until then... I have no idea. Fallout 3? God Of War 2? Ratchet: Gladiator? I'm just saying random games.

I don't think that the way you used the term "blind" is valid. At all. Also, God of War 3. That optical illusion garden is a ***** when you and your friends are really tired from binge playing.

The hardest game i think i've ran blind through was Crysis on Delta difficulty. That was a fun month and a half. Though it's also one of the very few game's i've done blind lately, most of the games i'm playing are oldschool RPGs. Oh, and Starcraft 2...
