Well, my netbook's on the blink... literally.

It seems as though the connection from the motherboard to the monitor of my Samsung NC10 is fucked. Any repair ideas?

Everything else works fine (have hooked up to a PC monitor and it's OK, but sort of negates the purpose i.e. portability).

I would take it to professionals, I know nothing about computers. Unless of course you know your way around them

Buy a new one? If you know it's definitely the monitor, or the thing that connects the monitor, maybe you could look to see how much the parts are.

It's what I did when I got a crack in my laptops screen and replaced it.

Other than that, I don't know. :/ Sorry if I'm not much help.

Is it still under warranty? If it is don't even try cracking into it yourself, you'll void it, if it is you should be able to take it and get if fixed.

EAT IT!!!
I have a very sensitive gut, so I think I'll pass on that. Besides, not a big fan of a plastic diet.

Nope, it ran out a few months ago.

I replaced my screen a while ago and there's a connector inside one of the hinges. You could try stripping it down and checking that connector is seated both ends and not damaged where it runs through the hinge?

Still, if you don't know what you're doing this is not the time to learn. You're better off having it repaired.
Yeah, I've been checking online to see what the common faults are/where the relevant bits are since this is the first time it's gotten a hardware problem. Will be taking it apart this evening...

try constantly turning it off and on again, i have a good friend who lent us his PC and we had the same problem. he says that one of the wires or metal connectors had snapped and if you constantly mash on/off it welds itself together. if not just get another one

I had this issue on my NC10 you need to send it off to Samsung as the ribbon connecting to the monitor is damaged (or has come lose, mine was damaged), took them about 2 weeks to get it sent off and back to me.

People! Problem is solved.

Took apart the LCD panel, stuck the cable back properly and all's hunky dory.

Thankee everyone.
