I've heard it said that Ford was the only one whose acting career wasn't ruined by appearing in Star Wars, but I had no idea it was actually saved by it! Awesome! (Of course, it probably helps that Lucas himself gave Ford his other big role. He may have been the only filmmaker who saw his actors as actors first and Star Wars characters a distant second.)

He's right. John Williams writes damn good music.
John Williams writes damn samey music, all his scores use extremely similar scales and pacing, it's soundtrack 101
True enough, but what you're forgetting is that he made a killing doing what he does best. They may all be similar, but they're all good. If you think you can do better, please be my guest because I love classical style music.
I believe my music is varied to the point where they are not similar. I try to compose without rehashing successful riffs and scales, I appreciate that a lot of people like to comment on art they are not a part of but I am a composer and this is a subject I am studying at university. I personally believe that being renowned shouldn't be the aim, it should be to create a body of work which you can be proud of and if my work was all a one trick pony I would feel embarrassed.

I also have a passion for classical music, my fav is Bach, what is yours?
(I say this out of genuine interest, it's hard to use tone in text)
I tend to generally prefer German composers over the Austrians or Italians of the era of enlightenment. Bach is definitely up there, and Wagner and Strauss as well. I've always approved of the "triangle sound" they used (more emphasis on lows for foundation, less on highs), whereas the others used a reverse sound, with great emphasis on highs and filled in slightly with the lows. The deep, dark, driving brass tones appeal to me much more than flowery, airy strings.

I also have great respect for several Russian composers, such as Mussorgsky.

I think him being tight-lipped about star wars probably had alot to do with him having a career afterwards.

Damn nerds. Well at least it was for charity, but if Ford ever needs a bit of cash he can just hire out a convention hall and charge 200 a ticket.

Yeah, again, we didn't really learn much new here except the whole Chewbacca thing. Still, it's nice to know that not everyone involved in Star Wars thinks it was the greatest thing ever, even if it was.
Alec Guinness hated it, he ended up with some pretty dire lines.

Indeed. I also heard that he thought it would be popular (understatement lol) and so he invested in the franchise or something and made a shed load off that. Correct me if i'm wrong...

He traded a normal actors fee for a 1% share of all the profits or something like that.
