Harry Potter remake?

What do you guys reckon? In, say maybe 20 years do you think they might start to re make the movies, I really hope not as I couldn't, and don't want to, see anyone else play Harry, Ron or Hermione. I also hope they don't try and make some obvious money grabbing bullshit spin off of the movies, I mean hell, the games are already bad enough. Also just as a side note I hope the 3 main characters (Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliff) career doesn't end up going no where now that they have finished with Harry Potter, I think it would be sad to see in 20 years Daniel Radcliff as the new Charlie Sheen.

Well, harry potter was more than just a movie, it was a cultural phenomenon, so a remake in a few decades is inevitable.

It's very possible for them to remake the series.

I don't think so. Maybe they'll make a super duper HD UV ray version of it or something, but I don't think they'll do a full remake. (unless its a porn remake, but they're likely making those already.)

well, considering that the trio have already been doing multiple jobs in-between the Harry Potter movies, I'd say they've got nothing to worry about.

But for the remakes, that's like when someone asked me if I wanted to see a remake of the Star Wars movies made from 1-6, not 4-6 1-3. I just don't know how I feel about that. I mean my brain cannot comprehend the idea. I can read the words, but there is no thought about it. I cannot tell what my brain is thinking on the subject.

Reading your headline made me want to see a remake of the entire Harry Potter series, made by some crappy Z - rate studio on a shoestring budget in less time than it would take to watch the existing HP movies back to back. (Seriously, who else would do that?)

Rowling wouldn't allow it as she is very protective of it and I doubt she'll need the money, doesn't mean a TV series (animated or live) can't be created with her blessing though.

Sigh i think they will in another 20 years i will watch it and think ' the originals were so much better' and all the kids would think 'wait that was concidered a good series? that was total crap'. And then i will think back on my childhood and wish i was young again. If none of what i have predicted happens then oviously the world is a much nicer place in the future.

I just saw the last one yesterday, ive read all the books over 5 times, and just... NO! It just wouldent work.(And if they did it anyway then I'll just go and egg/tp the entire development studio to slow them down a bit. XD)

Not sure about a remake. It'll take 70 years for the copyright to wear off (and that's just if J.K leaves it as is which is unlikely).

She's already stinking rich so unless she goes on a heavy spendign spree there isn't much incentive for her to allow a remake, especially since a remake will 99% be a lot more american and "keeping it British" was importent to her.

Having said that it wouldn't be the first time a celeb did something needless just for extra cash despite having more than most people make in a lifetime.

My thoughts exactly. Read all the books a heap as well, and thought they were much better then the movies, in my opinion the movies just left to much out, don't get my wrong the movies were great, they just could have been better.

Yep. They remade The Chronicles of Narnia, and Harry Potter was just as big, if not bigger. It'll be remade.

And hopefully by that time, we're used to 10 hours movies, and they'll fit everything in. That would be rather nice...
