Has a game ever made you cry?

Metroid Prime, reading the Chozo Lore... it brought a few tears. Prime 2 had a few close moments when reading about how some of the Luminoth warriors died. (Seriously, staying there until she starved to death?)

Agreed. The ending was more tears of joy than tears of sadness, although I for one couldn't help feeling a bit sad for certain members of the Organization.

Still, aside from Kingdom Hearts II, I've become pretty emotional at a couple of other games - both Shadow of the Colossus and Ico, as well as Final Fantasy VII, XII and X. Come to think of it, the ending to Sly 2: Band of Thieves is bittersweet as well.

Yeah, I don't do macho.

I've never cried in a game, but that's mainly because idiotic morons have spoiled the endings to many games I play (Why, why do they do it?). As silly as it sounds though I would love to cry at a videogame due to something sad happening in the plot that wasn't already spoiled by one of the many people I hang around who are heartless dickheads with no appreciation of story when it comes to plot in gaming.

I once did cry out of frustration though, Fallout 3 gave me a bad sort of ending because I didn't know what to do in the final part of the game and I'd spent the entire game being some kind of saint among the wasteland. But I don't really count that as crying to a videogame.

For some reason the first time I beat Ocarina of Time Navi's leaving made me tear up, I hated that damn fairy the same as everyone but her leaving really struck me as odd since now Link is the hero and everyone seems to have abandoned him.

I don't know what it was about it exactly, but this scene from early on in FFX really got to me emotionally:

Also, the ending of The Darkness was super-sad.

Deus Ex... because

"Yay I found where I'm supposed to go/that mod I was looking for!" and BAM!!!

Oops you forgot someone, and they ass-raped you with bullets. Did I mention you haven't saved for the past 30 minutes? 'Cause you didn't.... [sub]fag[/sub]

Wow...Nothing so far about fallout 3... the dunwhich building, and the ending, and some of the radio transmissions.

Didn't cry but was seriously f*cking depressing.

In Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core.

When Zack Dies

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that.

Same here. I never actually cried during that one, though. I did cry at the end of Kingdom Hearts (1), though. I can't even remember why. o_O

Never cry, only strong emotion. I had my tear ducts removed and gained a nice profit from it.

Games that have produced strong emotion from the ever-inscrutable Lord Mountbatten are as follows:

Mother 3 - of course.
Beyond Good and Evil
That part - those in the know will understand - in Red Dead Redemption.
Mass Effect 2 - close to the end of the mission that involves the Quarian Flotilla.
Myst 3: Exile - again, people who played it will understand why (that ending part).
Deus Ex - "what a shame".

Never, but I'll tell you, those unforeseen consequences really got to me.

The Dunwich building had some sad tales... everyone told me it was scary, but I found it more sad than scary. The ending probably would have been more sad if I wasn't so angry at the fact that the game was over and there was nothing I could do.
